Finished "A faint cold fear" by Karin Slaughter. This is the third in the Sara Linton series, and I'm begining to find it hard to believe all the horrific events that Lena Adams has encountered. There again it is fiction. :D

At the moment I`m in the middle of Sail, by James Patterson and Howard Roughan. Enjoying it, but it seems a faintly familiar story, as though I`ve read it before, but I know I haven`t. Managed to get through 5 books on holiday, but age is catching up with me, I can`t remember what they were!!

You are not alone

"The murder game" by Beverly Burton, according to the blurb on the cover"shocking and terrifying,it will chill you to the bone".All I can say is whoever wrote the review must be very easily shocked.

I`m glad I`m not alone Bill!
Am now in the middle of Harvest, by Tess Gerritsen, and it`s very good, especially as it`s apparently the first book she wrote, but I do have quite a fondness for this lady`s books.

I love Tess Gerritsen too numberplease and I am delighted to have "converted" one of Iain's staff (who was more a chicklit girl) to the big bad world of murders and autopsy.
I am more than halfway through "genesis" by Karin Slaughter and it is fantastic......my kitchen cupboards remain untidy and it's back to work on Monday  but I have read some really good books this summer.
I picked up "The murder of King Tut" by James Patterson and Martin Dugard yesterday. I'm not sure how "the ultimate cold case re-opened - the unsolved death of Tutankhamen" will be - but as you all know I like James patterson so will give it a go.

We will avoid her then Bill!!

Have any of you come across books by Lisa Gardner? She`s another author I disclovered a while back, I`ve read about 4 of her books now, they`re not at all bad.

I have heard Lisa Gardner is very good numberplease, though I haven't read any of her books myself.
I finished "genesis" this afternoon. It was fantastic. I worried a few books back that Karin Slaughter had gone off the boil, but she is back on top form with this one. This book was a kind of "crossover" of her 2 series. It features Sara Linton from the Grant County books and Will Trent and Faith Mitchell from the last 2 Atlanta novels. I can't wait for the next one to see where the relationship with Sara and Will Trent goes.

I`ll watch out for that one Ags, I like Karin Slaughter. What a name for someone who writes about murder!

"The Scarecrow"is the latest from Michael Connelly. What can I say? This guy just never fails to come up with the goods. No Harry Bosch in this storyline, but a return for crime writer Jack McEvoy and FBI agent Rachel Walling.
What made it even better was I did not have to pay for it.Next door neighbour mentioned he had it and promptly let me have it,even before he read it himself.

I have just finished When Will There Be Good News? by Kate Atkinson, I really enjoyed it and will need to read some of her other books.

Somme Mud has been sitting here for a while so I have moved on to it. My Great Uncle who passed away last year was always talking about his experiences during the Second World War. I thought it would be interesting to read the story of a soldier who wrote his story as a form of therapy, to help him come to terms with what he had witnessed during The Great War.

Rainbowsprite, I read When Will There Be Good News a while back, but I`m afraid it didn`t really appeal to me. I stuck with it to the end, hoping things would change, but it was too far away from the sort of books that I usually read. But hey, it`d be boring if we all liked the same things!

I recently read the first two of the Steig Larsson "Millenium Trilogy" called "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo" and "The Girl who played with Fire" Absolutely fantastic, found myself totally engrossed in the characters and the twists and turns of the plot. The first was great, the second even better and the third, "The Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest" ...... unfortunately not released until October, but got it on pre-order already. Can't wait!

Also just read the book that Slumdog Millionnaire was based on. Good, but to be honest the film is better - and I never think that!

Just finished"The First Counsel" by Brad Meltzer,a tale of child abuse, murder and intrigue within the White House. The soryline seemed to lose it's way at one point, but it all came together, and was an enjoyable read.

I`m in the middle of The Killing Hour, by Lisa Gardner, another author I only found in the last few months, but I`ve enjoyed every one of her books so far.
