I have had more than a few blonde moments myself this week
Thanks for keeping me right guys - I totally forgot about Jack and Jill - and the other two although I mentioned them previously! I double checked my list against a list of all Patterson books on the inside cover of Cross Country before I posted and Jack and Jill isn't mentioned there either......wonder why?

I`ve just started Dying to Sin, by Stephen Booth, which promises to be good. I`ve never come across him before, but apparently this is his 8th book, so I must look out for the rest.

Halfway through Crime & Punishment. Its ok, but there are far too many subplots.

Well done you, I read Anna Karenina when I was 14, tried War and Peace but gave up, read it at last a few months ago, I was wondering about giving Crime and Punishment a try. Would you recommend it?

Well, it doesn't help that I'm reading it in Russian. Of course not, I can't read Russian. It's a good book, but it's pretty slow. I'm not bored by it though. An example is on the back cover of my book a girl named Sonia is named as Raskolnikov's shot at redemption. The character herself doesn't actually appear until around 250 pages in. Too many Svidrigailov's and Marfa Petrovna's who are possibly not all that integral to the story. But then again, it wouldn't be half the book it is (literally) without all these characters. Don't really go in for recommending or discarding books, because everyone has different tastes, but I will say that I like it.

It's definitely all about personal taste and enjoyment HCJF!! Have any of you Patterson fans started reading Cross Country??
I can't make up my mind if I like it!! - I want to carry on reading because we have all been with Alex Cross through many a murder enquiry but this book is a bit more violent than usual and I really don't like these bits......I know it's the African connection and he has obviously done a lot of research into what he is writing but I'm just not sure yet.......!!

I haven`t got it yet Ags, there`s a pile of books in my cupboard waiting to be read, and I`m hoping for book tokens for Christmas to enable me to add to the pile, including the latest Pattersons.

Ags, I`m a peaceful old soul really, :) but I do like lots of gore and violence in my books for some reason, so I`ll probably love it!

I am at my "quiet" job today and have just finished it!! As I said already - same old James Patterson, same old lovely Alex Cross just very very grim in bits....you will love it numberplease and despite the trauma I put myself through reading some scenes I still couldn't put it down!!
Right what will I read next I wonder :?

Ags, have you read the Kathy Reichs books? I think she`s taken Patricia Cornwell`s crown.

Last week, someone in my work gave me a copy of Patterson's Jack and Jill when I mentioned him. It's taken me all week to read it because I've had other books to read for my Group, etc. but I found it hard to put down. So many twists and turns! I liked the characters too. The only thing was that the person who gave me the book said I should have really read some of the other books first  :!: :?
