Why the question begs ?. After al wasn't she the one who stopped school milk - now there's something to be proud of.

As I remember, school milk was pretty disgusting stuff. It was invariably warm, and often almost on the point of "turning". This, coupled with having witnessed quite a few instances of sudden unannounced attacks of violent retroperistalsis during the milk break almost put me off milk for life. Yuk!

Maybe Mrs T knew what she was doing!

As usual Ionns selective memory is in overdrive,he forgot to mention that Harold Wilson's Labour government stopped free milk for secondary school pupils in 1968.In effect she was only carrying on Labour policy.

I don't eat milk now - however I always enjoyed the school milk - always fresh. It provided for us poor kids.
bill, from where I'm sitting - there is no substantial difference between either of these parties. The labour party in Scotland Glasgow East always won every election. Yet the people of Cranhill where subjected to neglected housing standards - drugs unemployment - gang warfare - murders robberies muggings - every sort of social evil took place. The labour party sat in George Square - you could hear the clink of champagne bottles - mixed with the laughter of whores.

Good to see Mrs.Thatcher home from hospital and on the way to a full recovery.

The State funeral can wait a while yet.

Absolutely bill, nice to see anyone recovering and getting better at home. As for the State funeral - perhaps the miners should bury her, in the deepest darkest pit on this earth. Or maybe send her rotten corpse to a laboratory, the scientists could attempt to discover what made her tick - and remove the abnormality, genetically. Save us all from any future despots.

In that case you would be better exhuming the bodies of Joseph Stalin,Mao Zedong,Nicolae Ceausescu and Pol Pot.All of the communist/marxist persuasion.

Adolf Hitler.

An obsessive, paranoid and very possibly deranged man who was given to frequent incoherent and hostile rants about race, religion and culture. These surreal glimpses of the moonscape of his own imagination were delivered under the diguise of socialism and the need for unity and independence in his homeland. He was quite convinced that all the ills that beset "his" people were caused by malign, outside influences. Whatever happened to him, then?

Winston Churchill.

Hitler's nemesis. If ever a person was worthy of a state funeral, this was the one.

Agreed Hugh.

IMHO. Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher,Britain's two greatest ever Prime Ministers. Not saying they were without fault, but as leaders they were inspirational.
In Mrs.Thatcher's case you could say there was a touch of the supernatural,as it would seem no-one actually ever voted for her.Three terms in office and I would appear to be the only person to have put my x in her favour.....Spooky.

I would imagine the majority of decent folk who voted for her would deny they did out of utter shame at what she did to the country.

I know, I feel exactly the same about voting for Blair.
