Will do Ags!
I don`t really fancy a Kindle, I do like the feel and smell of books, but maybe if I had one on trial I`d change my mind. We`ve just been away for the weekend, but although I took Linwood Barclay`s Never Look Away with me, alas I didn`t get much reading done.

"The dead won't sleep" is a gritty thriller from Sottish author Anna Smith. This is the first in a new series of thrillers, featuring investigative journalist Rosie Gilmour, set in 1990s Glasgow.
Certainly gets off to a great start with this story about corruption at the very top of Glasgow C.I.D.Just to make it more interesting there is a pedophile ring being run from a children's home catering Glasgow's high society.

I forgot I had pre-ordered it for the Kindle, Bill, so got a nice wee surprise to find on my homepage this morning. I'm half-way through it already and it's a cracker.

Agent 6 is the final instalment in Tom Rob Smith's Russian crime thriller trilogy.Child 44 was the first of the three and was an excellent read.Happy to say that Agent 6 is also up to the same standard.I have not read the middle instalment ,The secret Speech, but certainly will.

Jack Reacher has been patiently waiting my attention,so he is next.

I`ve just finished an earlier offering by Michael Connelly, The Black Ice, very good to say it was from 1993, but I do like the Harry Bosch books, I`ve just started another Connelly, City of Bones, promises to be a corker.

I forgot to say, Bill, I was looking at Child 44 the other week and wondering whether to give it a try, might do now.

Thanks to my "try before you buy" from a very good friend, my kindle arrived for the holidays today.
Now my dilemma is whether to buy the new Lee Child as a book or a download. I think I will still always like to have my "favourites" in book form?? is that wrong??
I loved the kindle i borrowed. The only thing i didn't like, which was purely my fault, was that I kept flicking to a new page before I had read the last sentence of the page I was reading. I'm sure with the next book though i will sort that out.
I thought i could justify my new purchase for holidays for Iain getting his newspapers every day but nae Herald or Daily Record available for kindle yet!! English newspapers it is :)

I enjoyed City of Bones a lot, but I love the Harry Bosch stories anyway. Have just finuished The Empty Chair, by Jeffrey Deaver, Lincoln Rhyme at his very best yet again, can highly recommend it. Am just starting The Last Detective, by Robert Crais, I`m so pleased, Bill, that you put me onto this author.

Finally got round to Lee Child's latest Jack Reacher novel ,"The Affair".I did enjoy it,and would certainly recommend it,though I do think there is a pretty big hole in the story line.Apart from that it's good to find out the reasons behind why he left the army.

Numberplease, glad to hear you are enjoying Robert Crais. You are in the fortunate position of having still quite a few to read. He has seventeen in publication, and not a bad one among them. 8)

I`ve read either 3 or 4 now Bill, can`t remember. Looking forward to the rest of them. I enjoyed Or She Dies, it`s the second one I`ve read by Greg Hurwitz, have you read any of his Bill? Just about to start on Breakneck, by Erica Spindler, another favourite author of mine.
