GG, I loved The Snowman! Am now reading Nine Dragons, by Michael Connelly, hoping to enjoy it more than Bill did, but too soon to say yet, only started it this morning.

Just finished my first Gus Dury novel "Gutted",from Scottish author Tony Black.Gus Dury is a washed up heavy drinking investigative journalist who inhabits the sink estates of Edinburgh. While still carrying a torch for his ex-wife,he gets involved in a murder which the local corrupt CID have him down as the guilty party.

There must be something wrong with me, cos I LIKED Nine Dragons! I`ve just started Lee Childs 61 Hours, promising beginning, although I seem to remember someone not liking it.

Numberplease I liked Nine Dragons too but it was the first Michael Connolly I had ever read. I also had fancied reading The Snowman but not liking GWTDT had put me off buying it! Will look out for it again though.
Due to a bit of a nightmare of a holiday, I didn't get through even half of the books I carted with me and intended to read. Worth Dying For was great, and as Bill said, "Jack Reacher back at what he does best, killing the bad guys" I also read The Other Daughter by Lisa Gardner. I didn't enjoy it just as much as some of her others but it was still a good plot with a few twists. I then got half way through The Witch of Portobello by Paulo Coello, but can't seem to find it since coming home
My next read is going to be "Have a little faith" by Mitch Albom. Not too sure about the synopsis but I loved The 5 people you meet in Heaven and Tuesdays with Morrie so will have a go!

Don't Blink is one of the latest from the conveyer belt that is James Patterson.Co-written with Howard Roughan it is a roller coaster of a story line,as investigative journalist Nick Daniels is targeted by mob hitmen for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.Or was he?

Another for me to look out for Bill. I`m really enjoying 61 Hours, but the front cover is making me feel very cold!

Ags, I'll send you The Snowman this week if you haven't got it. I just started Have a Little Faith myself yesterday and it will be a quick read.

For our Book Group I've just finished Past Imperfect by Julian Fellowes (this was because most of us are SO enjoying his TV series: Downton Abbey which is fabulous) and it has been the best read for me in a long time. It was a great insight into the upper class and the human condition. I was sorry to finish it and unlike many of the books I've read lately, it was a very nourishing read with a great plot and very memorable characters.

After I've finished the Albom book, I'm giving the Caro Ramsay book, Absolution, a go despite it not being my genre but hey, she's frae Govan!

Loved my latest dose of Jack Reacher in 61 Hours. Have just finished Swimsuit, by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro, liked it, but not overmuch. Haven`t started my next read yet, but it`ll be Dead Like You, by Peter James.

When She was Bad by Jonathan Nasaw is a "skin crawling pysco-thriller that combines heinous murders with a hefty dose of sexual deviance",so said the reviewer from The Daily Record.I enjoyed it. 8)

I am now half way through John Grisham's latest,The Confession.Looks like he is back on form.

Bill, I`ve just read the first few pages of Don`t Blink at the end of Swimsuit, and my appetite has been whetted!

GG many thanks but I ordered The Snowman yesterday, probably about the same time as you offered to send it. This is our next bookclub title. I started "Have a little faith" yesterday and am about a third of the way through it. I like Mitch Albom's style and it is very easy reading. I think my poor Mother was slightly "worried" about me when she saw the title though
I have also just finished "Don't Blink" and enjoyed it much more than some of the recent James Patterson titles. I ordered "Postcard killers" yesterday too after reading the first chapter at the end of Don't Blink.
Mrs A lent me the Julian Fellowes title a few weeks ago but I haven't got round to picking it up it yet. I wasn't sure if it was my kind of read though I know Mrs A loved it.

Loved Dead Like You, by Peter James, Det. Superintendant Roy Grace in his usual form. Have just started Alex Cross`s Trial, by James Patterson and Richard Dillallo. Apart from keep having to remind myself that it`s taking place in 1906, I`m really enjoying it, it hnarks back to the days of suppression of the American negroes and the Klu Klux Klan.

I picked up Tess Gerritsen's Keeper of the Bride. After a few pages I thought it must get better than this but gave up half way through. Rubbish. Waste of £4.49
