Just like to let people know that the route from Bellochantuy up towards Cnoc Buidhe has been vastly improved. They have levelled out the sharp inclines,so that the wind turbines can be hauled up to Beinn Turic.

l will running with you guys next week as part on my once a month LSR with the club.l was wondering if you fancy running from Bellochantuy over to Campbeltown which is just over 12 miles and if so then that would be great. It would be another route that is part of Kintyre you can see the beauty off and claimed to have run.

Tough but well worth the effort.

Donald--sounds like a great run. Here comes the "but"--------I will be at a 40th birthday party in Peninver Village Hall tonight, so don't think I will be fresh for the mornings exertions. Hope to be there on Tuesday though.

Rab have a teriffic night on the sauce. We had good run last night and IMO a first of a real club atmosphere amongst all that were there, adding their voice to encouraging others and to what training to look forward to doing and so on.

looking forward to all trying to make most club nights and the test will be come winters training(smiles to myself) and of course the Winters league races, still on the hunt for more names.

Well done all last night l really enjoyed the dreaded loop x 4.

The loop is always challenging but I think we all enjoyed it last night weirdly, we'll be doing it 5 times in a few weeks on special request for jen21  Going to post a rough training plan on the club website to keep us going.

Meeting at Aqualibrium 9am tomorrow as usual and 1 or 2 of us will take a car up to Bellochantuy for our LSR. The route from Bellochantuy via lussa loch to Campbeltown is around 12 miles but if you want to do less you can do an out and back route (as far or little as you want) and go back to car and miles can be added in town if you wish to do more.

Hope the weather improves!

I'm planning on doing 10 miles tomorrow so I'll run 5 miles up the Bellochantuy road and turn back. I'm taking my car up if anyone needs a lift.

Thanks DJD, i'm looking forward to my 4th time in a row running Islay half !!

I really enjoyed the change of route on Saturday. I got a bit disorientated when i reached Lussa and I ended up at Bordadubh which was around 5 miles. The hill leading out of Lussa is a killer, but otherwise I found it an enjoyable run despite getting soaked to the skin

Iceblue, does'nt time fly when you are a runner and as we all do, as soon as one run is finished we are out looking for the next one, mind you, more so you than me, as you are still improving and not just playing the game,my days are over, but l still love the challenge of putting one foot in front of the other.(play the violin or what)lol

Yes it was wet Saturday, but perfect for running, hope the weather is as kind for your 1/2,hope to be back training next week.

Goodluck iceblue - should have been doing the Islay half this year - but a wee trip to do some more walking on the GR10 in France popped in so....

behind with my running schedule - so no Islay and a couple more weeks before I get round to joining in with Tuesdays and Thursday and Jen - you will be away by then I think - all the best for the big trip :D

Well Jennifer, that was a tough session you set last night for your last Thursday nights training for a while to come, enjoy the next 9 months on your travels, and if you get to join a running club with a track,l'm sure you will come back, faster and stronger and a lot more knowledgeable.

Have a safe trip.

Thursday night's tough training session (5 x The Loop) was followed up by another hard session yesterday. We set out from Ballochgair and headed towards Lussa. I was aiming to do 14 miles and I was really pleased to achieve the distance as it was my longest training run since January!

I found Islay half hard going this year. It was a real struggle into the wind over the last few miles but i managed to complete it in 1:47 :)

All the best for your trip Jen21, have a great time :D
