Hi everyone would just like to say how well the intermediate group ran tonight. More of a challenge for most runners with some speed training thrown in. Tonights route was a similar one to which Suzy (Carmen) took with the Thursday night group a few weeks ago, so thanks Suzy for sharing this one with us, not that the group thought so a the beginning of their sprint training tonight. In the end the milage was 4.12 so well done everyone. T if your reading this sori i pushed you a bit much but i knew you could handle it. Hope your legs are ok tomorrow. Was also nice to have a visitor in our group tonight Elizabeth Marrisons sister hope our session was ok for her.
Well done again all and we will work on four and over four miles now that you all know you have it in your legs.
John hope you enjoy the next group up, it will be good to give yourself a push.
Tilly :D
PS Cheers Joan for holding up the rear.

Mine and Ali's Beginner group were very good again on Monday night, progressing really well.

We covered 3.7 miles, with a mainly 4 min run with 2 min walk, managed a 5 minute run in there too.

Been a wee while since a report on the Thursday group. Some great work over the last few weeks - including sprints and hills - and everyone doing really well. We had a windy run of just over four miles on Thursday night but pace was significantly quicker - well done all!!! :D

Monday night is the last night for this block, so Thursday night joggers to come along as well.

The next block starts back on Monday 19th April, the Bistro, Aqualibrium 6.50pm and Thursday nights 6pm.

If you can manage Monday and Thursday nights then it will be £10 for Monday night and £5 for Thursday night.

See you all on Monday night.

Just a wee reminder that tonight is the last night of the Jog Scotland block for 2 weeks. Now this is no reason to take take two weeks off for those in training for the 10k MOK .

As noted above the Jog Scotland committee agreed to reduce the cost if you wish to come both nights to £15 just as an incentive to get more runners out twice a week .

As this is the last night we are planning to do a 5k Easter egg hunt with a difference .

What a night to finish up on so cold ,wet and windy and well done to those who showed up to brave the elements for our Easter 5k run and ended up very wet chicks at the end. I think us marshalls ended up frozen chickens

Well done everyone !!

Thanks to Carmen and Wee Norz for helping organise the chick gear just a pity it was so wet. I think everyone was delighted with their certificates and Easter eggs . :D

I'll second that Pans the girls did a great job organising this event. Think everyone enjoyed themselves even though the weather was horrible, but could have been worse could have been tonight. Oh just a night for the fire.

loved my certificate, and myself, coxy and the kids enjoyed the easter egg thanks, doesn't make you feel so greedy when its shared out.

Kintyre Way Relay 2010

Postby Sid Gallagher » Tue Apr 13, 2010 10:17 pm

Hi jog scotland
I am trying to organise the support and marshals for the Campbeltown end of the Kintyre Way Relay. Is anybody able to help out? Fiona will be telling you more about it at JS but essentially the relay will be on Saturday 1st May, the teams and individuals will start off at Tarbert at some silly hour on Saturday morning and the finishers will be arriving in CT from about three thirty onwards. We need people at aqualibrium to check off and look after the finishers. We also need marshalls at Goba gennan turn off, Milknowe stores and at Lochend turn off to usher the runners in the right direction and look after the road crossing. If we have enough helpers each person would be on for about an hour to two hours.

We also need one or two volunteer drivers to take runners back to Tayinloan in the Sports Council mini bus.

If you can help contact me at sid@limecraigs.freeserve.co.uk and tell me when you are available. It's a really good event so I hope that some people are able to help out.

Sorry folks missed the courier deadline this week :(

Wanted to post that we are starting next 10 week block on Monday 19th April - so get yourself along to be in tiptop condition for this years MOK run. :D

Also if you come along on Monday and would like to train with us on a Thursday also we will be giving a discount of £15 for the two nights for 10 weeks to hopefully entice you all to train that little bit harder.

Also if anyone has a S1 - S4 (12-16 year old) who would like to come along and train for their 3K in the MOK we are offering support for this on a Thursday night. The 12-16 year old must bring a responsible adult with them as our insurance does not cover us for under 16's, we can however support them if they bring an adult who will train alongside them and take full responsibility for them. So come on mums and dads, support your young runner and get yourself fit at the same time :D

Great idea for 12-16 year olds on Thursdays.

How will this fit in with the groups that are established already? Will the youngsters run with these groups or in a different group and with which leader(s)?
