What a lovely morning for our run from Westport to the 1st Tee at Machrihanish and back ...the slight breeze on the way back kept us cool but added strength to our training. The sand was nice and firm ,perfect for running on, and it was a clear run all the way with no stones to dodge over . Just perfect. :D

I am not sure who is more tired me or my Springer Spaniel Millie who followed us all the way and back and probably clocked more than our 8 miles . She is lying out in the garden right now dead to the world ..legs sprawled out sound asleep like a baby. :D

Jog Scotland Saturday group finishes next Saturday but will continue to meet Saturdays 9am unofficially for anyone who wants to continue with their training throughout the summer months.

Now the pressure is off me if I want a long lie on a Saturday after a night out on a Friday ....   That water house brae nearly killed me last week after our jog leaders night out .

Tomorrows run is open to suggestions so will see who turns up and go from there ....

well girls and boys what a day we had yesterday :D :D

Just pure dead brilliant from every aspect :D Everyone joined in Kenny is wishing he had videod stuart and darren doing the 3 legged race - hysterical

neil john taking the wrong turn

elaine and moi sprinting with their 3 legged band on and the boys desperate to beat them,

tilly and catherine totally kitted out with balloons, masks and excellent 3 legged co-ordination

margaret anne and michelle with m.a. laughing so hard - and not being able to cross her 3-legged leg its a wonder she survived

ailsa n sharon - working that 3-legged scarf well in all that heat :D

and what a lovely sight seeing mother and daughter cross the line together - ali and gail :D

caro and liz gave it big licks even with one of them nursing a hangover - which one

the machrihanish ladies did well francis and jocelyn, even although francis did extra mileage(just a little tho) - again :D

big thanks to my helpers - adult sized ones were suzie- who traipsed roon the hills with me putting up signs and then gathered them all back in again, isla for manning the very welcome watering hole and kenny for being an excellent club photographer for the day :D

little sized ones were lucy who helped with the signs on the hills and drawing the faces on the balloons, shannon - for being second in command at the watering hole, morgan for blowing up the balloons and putting on the smiley faces and millar for helping out with the eye masks and balloons. :D

to all the jogleaders who made food for the buffet which was delicious and got wholly scoffed :D

hope you all have a great summer, and those of you who are doing the 3 mile series see you tomorrow up lussa

Great report Fiona28 of your fun run with a twist ....I was sorry I missed the fun but family came first this weekend. Sounds like you all had a great day out as I did in on Sunday on a city tour round London in the sweltering heat.

Yeh Kenny great pictures of a great day out thanks Fiona, Suzy, Isla and kids for all your hard work in making our day so much fun with posters, balloons, masks etc. Fiona you had a great team and it paid off with the smooth running of our end of season js event, fab weather also. Really loved the three legged race brought back memories of when i used to do that as part of school sports that wasn't today or yesterday  some bonny sights thank goodness i had my dazzling mask to hide behind . Great day and night team work pays off once again. Makes a change for me to be one of the die hards at the end of the night and a change for Isla to behave and go home.

Hope to see most folks out over the hols and if not have a good rest and come back in September when we restart.
Tilly :D

For anyone who is free tomorrow at 12noon. We are presenting Kareen's After School Club with a cheque and a picture for the courier. So if you can make it in your "Wee Toon Runners" t-shirt then 12 noon at the Community Centre.

Thanks
