Mclean/Maclean

Viewing from South of the border, looking for McLean/Maclean from early 1800s.

We have got back to Charles McLean married Flora MccCnachy of Killean in 1846. His parents were Duncan Mclean carter and Betsy McLachlan. It is possible that they came from Ireland, but equally they could be from Kintyre. Any ideas?
