Flea, Fly, Crow, hum, could it be the smell of an Englishman's b*m?

The mere mention of Robin Hood, and somebody stoned on Magic Mushrooms straight from Sherwood Forrest is threatening to make a JOB of us, but no idea of the chapter or verse. Maybe it's Guy of Gisborne?

Ach at the end of the day the disciple will tell you that the Messiah took to fishermen, not bankers, lawyers, Inn Keepers and trinket makers.

Anyway, there's supposed to be a hell of a freeze on the way, no doubt followed up by a plague of locusts, what's that Mrs Pongal, Oh they're here already! Sanyanya has been doing a roaring trade in firewood over the weekend and its strange to see all the lums except Morenish's reaking like a fleet of old puffers. He was also bandy legged carrying sacks of fresh garden fruit and vegetables around the village and must have sold a fair puckle, as you cannt get broth mixture for love nor money in the bakers this week.

A damn spite the tea room has closed over by, but hopefully Josie will make a comeback in the future.

For goodness sake Pongal, calm down. For a minute there, I thought you had swallowed the bible. After the anchor, that would have given you terrible indigestion.

Did you see the wee cutter going down past the pier there? Must be keeping an eye out for an uprising in the village. They've obviously heard of Snoddy's new relaxed prescribing of the wee blue pill and thought they would take a look. Goodness knows who Ninjagit is, maybe up to assess the stock of goats on the point, they must be due another slaying any time soon.......

That would be Sir Guy to you Mr Pongal. There is absolutely nothing wrong with forming trinkets from old bits of discarded metal. My grandfather reputedly hammered a penny down to make a soldering bolt to repair pots that fishermen had burnt the posteriors from. It set him up for life.

I may well be currently caretaking on Mr Morenish's croft, but absolutely refute that I was involved in the distribution and sale of his tinder dry firewood. Nor have I raided his orchard and removed fruit from his trees, only a few windfalls for pickling for Christmas. I know nothing of this Binabit character mentioned above, but wondered if perhaps he or she was a born again Jowler?

100% Bochan induced paranoia Bitter End.

At the end of the day the Bochan knows as well as all the other undeserving wretches, that the ruling class will prevail. This community is very lucky to have the captains of local industry and professional people selflessly offering the benefit of their undoubtedly superior intelligence, free gratis and for nothing.......... Not everyone can take those life changing decisions like Paracetamol or Mint Imperial!

Ach Bitter End, its not easy getting old, never mind told. I saw that wee cutter creeping past the quay again this morning and then swinging on the throttle when he passed Balfadyen. I'm afraid they've got it in for someone from the village. I'm missing the soup at the Heritage Centre something awful. I only hope that the new regime aren't going to try and palm us off with dried packet leek and potatoe, followed by gorilla's heid and microwave chips. It'll be 'The Rock' that they'll perish on. Once we get them out there!

Bochan can have a damn sharp tongue himself when he let's rip, but Mrs Bochan can be a damn sight worse. They say she can be like a dervish. She would probably wipe the floor with both Morenish and Sanyanya at once. Snoddy already knows how cross she can get. She gave him a wild slashing for offering paracetamol for her temper!

well I think it's a damned disgrace, blaming my good ewes for putting more rust at the quay heid!
but typical of the Dale rumour mill, all a prospective buyer said was "those ewes wool would make fine jumpers!"
and that set me thinking about starting a knitting bee like we had in the 60s where all the calliachs of the village would gather in the wun hoose to swap, rumo.....goss......fine honest news, drink, and of course knit fine jerseys for their menfolk.(oh aye I meant to put tea in there somewhere)
there was no mention of bongals or right pochans in them days!

Bochan do you not think the black shadow would sell better wi a wee lick o' dulux "fern mist" or even black, and maybe a couple o' new plates either side of her stern?
But I warn all the village, black shadow II, looks even blacker than the black shadow......dangerously black!
could it be yon anti missile radar paint just in case yonfla' wi the rocket launchers near the quay misses his intended target?
or maybe it's to fool Bungo's boys, toys?
she's nearly as black as Mrs Bochans temper in fact, poor Snoddy still hasn't recovered from her grabbing him by the curlys and shorts, for daring to suggest it was her fenders caused the fender bender at Tarbert!
mind you it fair took the superior wind oot his sails, when she glanced down and asked for his magnifying glass to see what she had in her hand.

bitter end: I fail to understand the comment rid top heidline etc. whats the Bochan got to do wi the sherrif court judging the surfing at Westport?

thankyou very much for the caretaking Sanyanya, I can refute any suggestions that you were selling off any of my stock while I was away, I know you to be a trustworthy person, thats why you were asked to do the job, and of course we made damn sure anything that could move was safely tied down and any apples that were left were certainly windfall as I took the precaution of removing all the good stock before departing.

Ach Slantish, dont you be worrying yourself about the colour of the paint work of the Shadow or the fine new BA numbers on her shoulder and quarter, they're there to get a little extra quota for the Mexican Dave. Things have moved on a pace since you went on your cruise of the Inner He Brides.

The Kilbrannan Sound has been scoured for every available basking shark and then lured by the fenders into the cuil, where they have been trained to round up adult herring. I thought I couldn't fail, but unfortunately they brought all the seals and remnants of scouders with them!

I didna think you could fail wi thet trainin Bochan -- wher thers sailfish ther used tae be herrin --but here's a wee use fur them ithers curtissy o the 'White Bear' - - ( Morenish wull maybe help wi the veg bits ? )

Seal Meat Hash

Ingredients

2 kgs. fresh seal meat, cubed
1 kg. blackbird breasts, deboned, whole
500 grams turnips
250 grams parsnips
250 grams strawberries (field berries preferred)
30 ml mustard (the meaner the better)

Preparation

Boil turnips and parsnips salted water until done, then set aside. In a wok, stir-fry the cubed seal meal at high temperature until seared, add blackbird breasts fry another 10 minutes. Add cooked vegetables and cook another 5 minutes until flavours blend. Cool and refridgerate. Just before meal-time, blend strawberries and mustard together to create a vinegrette, and pour over the chilled seal meat and serve.

see you an yer recipes MrEnd, her indoors has taken a hellish fancy for yer recipe, and this is me typing wi frozen fingers on ma phone up near the kittywakes nests trying to get her a fresh seal, I trapped an otter an tried her wi that but got sent straight back out to fetch a seal, I then tried her wi an old half-shaft seal from the Fergie and I'm now trying to shoot a seal wi the wan good eye I have left!
the damnt trouble you've caused!??!
yer worse than a hyper active bochan wi the smell of peat smoke in his nostrils from thon wee enchine he has nailed to the back o his boat.

an there was me relaxed and feelin quite good efter a walk round Carradales beautiful quay, what a night, the warm sun setting on the Arran hills, waves lapping on the stones below the carpark, what a perfect wee place it is, an what a damnt shame yon chuggers want to change it, if they want a brighton let them go an live in it an leave this wee place well alone!
I tell you if they get their way there'll be trams along the shore road and candyfloss sticking to the sides of the pickup at the quayheid, balloons in the hotel, and trinket sellers at the hall, and a retirement home for public workers in portRigh.
an you'll have to order your paper in a southcoast accent so's they unerstaun ye.I tell ye it's time to pull the claymores from the thatch...........but first I need a seal.
