Following on from the previous discussion (which I couldn't be bothered going back to find), does anyone still think he's the best player in the world? Anonymous except for when giving the ball away these days, he's almost as big a passenger as Kris Boyd. I know he's still scoring goals, but to me his recent attitude stinks.

Based on last night's performance, as well as recent domestic games, he is no where near being the world's best player. I agree that he is still getting the goals, but when you look at the work ethic and willingness to run and track back from the Porto players, he is not the complete player. If he had the heart and attitude of the likes of Tevez, then he would maybe be in the running. For me, it's currently between Gerrard and Messi for the title of World's Best Player.

It is impossible to have a world's best player. If you are the best midfielder in the world how can you be better than the best striker, centre half or goalkeeper in the world?
Perhaps the best 11 players in the world would be more realistic?
