just another overpaid bilious politician using the "rehab" excuse. "Rehab" cures all and allows you to throw away all the naughty things you have done.

He has just stepped down as a Councillor . Mmm there is more to this than meets the eye. I wonder, if it was champagne and coke.

Oh and just to put some middle class liberal minds at ease . I'm attacking the ex leader, of the labour party Council in Glasgow. Not the suffering of an addiction. :D

How good was he at running Glasgow City Council - isn't that more important than stirring it?

Ask that to the people of Drumchapel. One of his friends collapsed and died outside the chambers, a tragic event. However the poor unfortunate, was a labour party activist, and close fried of Mr Purcell, ( he loved Steven ). Anyway it so happens, that he was employed by the council, in their much sought after, apprenticeship scheme. Coincidence I dare say - however due to the nature of politics and corruption, the circumstances, lay open the possibility of nepotism.

Senior Labour figures were made aware that he was a cocaine user two years ago. He was warned by police that he could be in danger of being blackmailed by a Glasgow drug baron. Here we have someone who clearly breaks the law, by buying and taking a class A drug. He was admitted to Castle Craig drug and alcohol dependency clinic, my wife has worked in mental health for the last 15 years, she only knows of one other person, who has been admitted to this exclusive care facility. What is going on at Glasgow Council ?. Did he score the dope within the chambers ?

One wonders if this man remains a member of the labour party ? equally Glasgow Districts Council procedures, in relation to drug abuse, also spring to mind. For that matter the drug enforcement agency, that dealt with the Labour Party leader,
did they follow correct procedure ( no favours ) ? Speculation is a tangible beast, let loose by cover up. :D

Reports in today's gutter press, ( least we forget ). Claim that the Labour Party, banned Councilor Purcell from standing in the 2008 by-election, as it appears that, they were aware of his problems. Concerns of a cover up, stretching all the way down to London, are being aired. Speculation remains rife, The stubborn refusal of the leadership to come clean, at least with the facts, serves only to throw, fuel on the fire. This is not about Steven Purcell, I hope he makes a full recovery, and goes on to find a relatively happy life, albeit outside the corridors of power. This current saga only serves to remind us, of the betrayal of a party ,who claim to represent the poor. Yet apparently wine and dine at the taxpayers expense, yet this is hardly suprising or a new and unexplained phenomenon now, is it ?
Personally, I'm sick to the back teeth of our extremely limited choice, when it comes to electoral representation. Pick the
lesser of the evils isn't democracy, it's dictatorship. A one sided coin, thrown by the powers that be, and we obligingly scramble for the crumbs. Scotland has an opportunity at this point in time, not only to achieve independence, but too radically reform our own blend, of what is morally acceptable, to the people of Scotland.
