What are you reading just now?

Have your say....

Haven`t heard of him Bill, I`ll keep a lookout. Finished Possession, by Peter James, a bit different to others of his that I`ve read, but enjoyed it though. Am in the middle of Shatter, by Michael Robotham, never heard of him before, but am enjoying it. Slightly reminiscent of Jonathan Kellerman`s Alex Delaware stories, but British. I`ve had Marley and Me recommended to me, don`t know the author, but after seeing the film trailer on TV, I wouldn`t mind giving it a go.

Have now finished Shatter, and can recommend it. Am now reading another Peter James, Not Dead Enough, seems promising.

Just finished an exciting murder thriller set in Atlanta,Triptych by Karen Slaughter. What a great name for a writer of murder novels.
All I have to do now is find a good read for the flight to Tenerife Friday. 8)

Bill, I love Karen Slaughter`s books, I`ve read all up to and including Tryptich, waiting for the next in paperback. How about a Jonathan Kellerman or Peter James for holiday reading?

I have "A faint cold fear" by Karin Slaughter for the flight.I hope it is as good as "Triptych",which was a stand alone novel, whereas as you know "A faint cold fear "is part of a series.

You`ll enjoy it Bill, all of her books are good. I`m enjoying Not Dead Enough by Peter James at the moment. Am soon going to be looking for Marley and Me, before seeing the film, it was recommended to me a good couple of years ago, but I never saw it in the shops at the time.

Bill, I`ve bought another Karin Slaughter tonight, in case you`re interested in looking out for it, it`s called Fractured.

I have to say Numberplease, I gave Bill a wee thought when I was pushing my trolley round Tesco tonight and saw "fractured", it's obviously just out in paperback and its fab :D
I'm reading "The five people you meet in heaven" by Mitch Albom for next Fridays bookclub.

The reason I don`t join a book club is that with my baby grandson to look after, I can`t guarantee to finish a book by a certain date, not as much reading time as of old. I did add to my pile of books in Asda last night, got another 5 besides Fractured, including Bones, by Jonathan Kellerman.

Tonight I watched the film of the book The Kite Runner and really enjoyed it. A lot of detail was left out, usually the case when taken from a book, but it stuck pretty much to the original story.

Not Dead Enough was very good. Have since read The Birthing House, by Christopher Ransom, not b-a-a-a-d, a bit of a cross between Stephen King and Dean Koontz, but can`t say that I really enjoyed it, and can`t really say why, but I did find it slightly distasteful in places. Am now reading All the Colours of Darkness, by Peter Robinson.

We had our book club awards ceremony last night for our 2008 reads.....I know....any excuse!! We had lovely food and wine at Craigard!
The winner was Sacrifice by S J Bolton (Numberplease and Bill, you'd like it!), 2nd was The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and 3rd (much to Kintyre84s disgust ) was On Chesil Beach by Ian McEwan.
Our next title is The Brutal Art by Jesse Kellerman.

I`ll look outfor Sacrifice Ags. I`ve read one of Jesse Kellerman`s books, can`t remember the title, quite liked it, but not quite up to his father and mother`s standard.

Just finished 8th Confession by James Patterson - just what was required for a holiday weekend!! It was really good apart from a chapter in the middle which seemed a bit bizarre and out of context!! Really enjoyed it though :D
