It was a journalist`s own documentation of the happenings during the killing spree of a serial killer who named himself Zodiac, in America between 1968 and the 80s, but it was a bit too ponderous for my liking. I don`t usually give up on a book, but this time.........

Good film though.

Harlan Coben's Promise Me is his 1st Myron Bolitar novel for six years, and better than any of the previous I have read in the series.I never saw the final twist in the story comming, thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through.

Bill - are you being a male chauvinist here  ????
Alex Kava -mentioned by numberplease in her last post is another "FEMALE ALEX" and has written a couple of cracking crime thrillers, in particular I recall "A Perfect Evil" and "Split Second". Other great female crime writers are Tess Gerritsen and Karin Slaughter. Patricia Cornwell was also mighty fine in her day!!
Alex could also be short for Alexandra :D

And here's me hook line and sinker    anyway - try Alex Kava.......

I read "The boy in the dress" by David Walliams over the last couple of days. I had ordered it for the wee person in the house but thought I would read it first!! Quite sad but obviously very funny in bits too!
Got stuck into my Simon Kernick by candlelight this afternoon/evening when we had no power for 3 hours!! So far so good!!

The Murder Exchange! I'm not that far into it but it's his usual fast paced style!

Just finished The Payback by Mike Lawson,it says on the cover "if you like Lee Child, you'll love Mike Lawson.

Not as good as Lee Child, but still a good read none the less.

Ags, you said the other day that you`ve read and enjoyed a few Alex Kava books. If Split Second isn`t one of them, I can recommend it, having just finished it. I`ve taken your advice and bought a book by Lee Child, One Shot, I`ll read it when I finish the Patricia Cornwell one that I`m in the middle of. There were a few Lee Child books in Asda, but I just got the one, just in case I don`t like it, but from the synopsis it looks fine.

"The Perfect Storm", Sebastion Junger. I bought the book about two years ago and never got round to reading it. Then a friend at work started raving about the movie. I've got the movie taped on Freeview digibox thingy, so I'll read the book now and watch the movie. See how they compare?

I thought I read a lot. But I can't keep up with anybody on this thread.
