What's On at the Picture House

Postby Kintyre Forum News » Sat Aug 16, 2008 9:35 pm

I thought I would post this as someone said to me today it is Mama Mia that is on this week and I thought it was Kung Fu Panda, which of course it is and Mama Mia is next week.

Thought I would highlight the cracking website the Picture House now has with video trailers too. (well done Malky 8) )

Kung Fu Panda

Showing: Sat 16 Aug 2008 for 6 days at 8.00pm

Image

Enthusiastic, big and a little clumsy, Po is the biggest fan of Kung Fu around...which doesn't exactly come in handy while working every day in his family's noodle shop. Unexpectedly chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy, Po's dreams become reality when he joins the world of Kung Fu and studies alongside his idols, the legendary Furious Five -- Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper and Monkey -- under the leadership of their guru, Master Shifu. But before they know it, the vengeful and treacherous snow leopard Tai Lung is headed their way, and it's up to Po to defend everyone from the oncoming threat. Can he turn his dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master into reality? Po puts his heart - and his girth - into the task, and the unlikely hero ultimately finds that his greatest weaknesses turn out to be his greatest strengths.

Thanks for kind words KFN :)

Mamma Mia is shaping up to be busy so I suggest if you want the balcony you pre-book seats.

I'd recommend the same for 'Dark Knight' when it comes. Seriously good and more than slightly scary.

Going to see Mama Mia on Thursday night! Can't wait! Do people actually sing like the adverts on the TV for it??

Wall-E is excellent for the kids too! We seen it when we were away on holiday. Think it is coming on soon?

Seats are very, very limited for the rest of the week so I hope you've all booked  Check the front page of the website for up-to-date news.

For the singers amongst you, there is a sing-a-long version of the movie just released. It might be worth trying to book it for a weekend in the near future, though no promises. Would that appeal?

I think a sing a long version would be excellent! Specially if you are going to head out after! Hope my tone deaf singing doesn't put anyone off!

Was there last night too. Absolutely brilliant-the most I've enjoyed a film for ages. I was disappointed that I never got to dress up as Benny, but if there is a sing along version you never know. It took all my will power not to get up dancing, but I don't think the 10 year old I was with would have approved-my pal Lou would have that's for sure. I was only two rows from the stage and was desperate to get up there and strut my stuff! A theme night would be great-I'm away to start on my outfit :D

That's the one I went to here and I can't tell you how great it was. The words come up on the screen for the songs and everyone gets up and sings and dances. At the end we were dancing in the aisles. Only those who know how really to enjoy themselves got dressed up  but as I said in my other thread me and my friend won the prize for the best dressed (4 free cinema tickets between us) although our picture ended up in the local newspaper!
Btw not one man dressed up!

Just back from tonights showing - a lot better than last night.... We were singing, clapping and having a ball! All the folk around us joined in and the kids at the parties were all dressed up and waving their blow up microphones about in time to the music. FANTASTIC!!!

Malky you just have to get the sing a long version - in fact you should make that a regular feature and have sing a long Grease, Sound of Music etc etc I think it would be very popular.

I bet you wish they made a lot more films like that - the cinema would have no problem filling their seats!
