Perhaps the start of a new feature?

But where is it?

Is the camera is giving a misleading view?

Is the land at the back further away than it looks? Could it be the triangular field at the start of the Dhorlin with the photo taken from East of Trench point?

Just beat me to it there JD. I wasn't sure if that same original buoy was still there. It must be a fair age. (a bit older than us anyway)

Your bang on there "EMDEE", the photographer has just zoomed right in on it.

I knew I had pics somewhere of it, I it'll be a lot older than us  .

Noo jeest hang on a meenit!!

I beg to differ here and i just checked with a nautical colleague who has clarified it.

my initial thought was that that was the trench point marker, but that was also wrong, the trench point marker is the green buoy just off the shipyard pier.

The marker in question is apparantly the MILLBANK marker, with the millbeg buoy being the one further along the channel on the entrance opposite the red buoy at the Dhorlin side.

I can recall years ago that millbeg buoy used to be painted on the buoy itself but this is no longer the case.

You stand correct "Buzz", my blunder getting mixed up, knew it was Mill something  . The Millbeg is green light flashing every 2s and i also remember the name on it.The one off the Trench Point is Campbeltown and green light flashing every 6s.
