Some pics taken yesterday at the Gauldrons. Nearly stepped on this Oystercatchers nest while having a stroll along the beach. The two birds are seen perched on the rocks.See how good the eggs blend in with the shore.

Two parent Oystercatchers out on the rocks being wary of me.

A winters day at Machrihanish on Tuesday 12 Jan.

Just some quick snaps taken from the warmth of the car of the 1st tee on the golf course, the Pans Beach with a odd patch of snow, a very cold and bleak looking Gauldrons and a more widespread covering of snow up at High Lossit. A couple of namesakes of forum members :) .

Wonderful! We really do live in a photographer's paradise. I went through an oystercatcher phase, this is a photo I took a while back in Machrihanish

We were down on Easter Sunday and the man himself was in residence. It was a lovely day, sun shining, bit cold in the wind, but found a sheltered spot for a picnic with friends. Took lots of photos but Photobucket is a pain at the moment, very slow to upload pics, anyone elso finding this or is it just me and my pc ?

Eddie must have been busy, building all spruced up with a paint job :D .

Stormy day today (Wednesday 28th).
Wee run out to Machrihanish and the Bird Observatory today.Different scenario to the above pics.
Seen some stormy weather in my days and today was no exception. Some really big rolling waves generated today with the gusting winds.Very difficult to get a steady photo with the wind and spray. Some brave souls standing by the trig point when a massive wave broke on the rocky point.

That looks rough, great pics though, glad the seabird sanctuary is still intact.

Been to Kintyre 4 times (December / Jan / Feb). And been to that observatory 4 times. Never once found it open. Why do people think wildlife is only worth watching in the summer? :(
