MOKMF SATURDAY 19TH AUGUST 4.00PM

Postby JamieG » Sun Feb 19, 2006 6:18 pm

The Burnside Bash is back on again this year folks and I have confirmed all my acts. I havent spoke to Kintyre Schools Pipe Band but im sure they will open it for us again again at 4. I will speak to them nicely at their concert next month.

Confirmed are

VIOLENT ECHO-Andra, Ian, Jamie and Ross come back this year to top the bill with a variety of covers to get the crowds jumping. What a great job they did last year im predicting a riot again.

A NEW HOPE-I cant believe that these boys are coming to do a bit. They were like the ecka in their day. I know that Buffa is still def in the band cause i booked it through him. Rest of the line up im not still sure about but i think it still is Stuart McMillan(rhtm gui and lead vox), Keith Gillies aka Buffa(Bass Gui),
Darren Brodie(lead gui) and I think Peter Graham on drums but im not sure. The boys play mostly covers too from manics to stone roses and oasis with the odd Bay City Rollers.

GORDON & JORDAN- Gordon & Steven come back this year to do the traditional stuff for us again. These are the ones you can sing along to.

FRANK ROCHFORD-Young Frank is getting the fiddle out to give you a few jigs. Footstomping tunes to get you in the mood for dancing.

So another great line up for the square this year already looking forward to it. The Burnside Bash follows on from Doon the Green which finishes at 4pm. A good idea for the square is a fold away chair or a blanket to sit on once you are there you wont want to move.

More acts might be added as the year passes but im just wanting to keep you up to date for the mo. The Burnside Bash is part of the Mull of Kintyre Music Festival. The Burnside Bash is weather permitting and wont go ahead if it is raining due to health & safety regs.

Should be a good afternoon then!
Glad to see A New Hope on the bill, remember them from school dances when I was in 1st year and probably too young to appreciate good music!
And it's my birthday that day so its vodka and lemonade if you're buying!

A NEW HOPE........

Postby youngsculla » Wed Apr 26, 2006 10:52 pm

Well done Jamie for getting the fantastic A NEW HOPE to play.
Not everybody is into fiddles and bagpipes and their music will certainly get the crowd going. They dont just do covers. I remember a classic song written by young Stuart called " wrapped up in u" and who can forget the outstanding "cannonball"
Hope they play some of their own stuff.
Book them for the survivors night headline act for next year. 8)
