Animal ads.

Why are there so many ads with animals?

Elephant, moneysupermarket.
Penguin, John Lewis.
Meerkats, Compare the market.
Sloth, Sofaworks
Panda, Fox's biscuits
Brown bear, Muller yogurt.
Duck-billed platypus and lizardy thing, First Direct.
Orang Utang, SSE.
Whatever gets you thru the night. J Lennon.

Tugging at people's heartstrings to sell their crap. However, I'd rather have the animals than some of those blooming actors who are in the business of selling out great characters!!!! I didn't care about Al Pacino for Sky and Samuel L Jackson for something-or-other and Bruce Willis for some broadband company (rubbish advert too!) or Clooney for coffee but Harvey Keitel has desecrated the character of Winston Wolfe forever! I know they're clever but I'd rather have a sweet wee penguin any day!

Talking about adverts, the best Christmas one this year is the wonderful WW1 for Sainsbury's but I'm shocked to see that there have been many complaints about it cheapening the message. I really do not agree, I think it's very poignant and relevant 100 years later.

I went on You Tube to have a look at the Sainsbury's and John Lewis ads and I agree with you about the complaints for Sainsbury's, bloody silly. Maybe could have saved themselves a load of money by using Lord McCartney's Pipes Of peace vid ?
I love that John lewis one, it's wonderful and captures the magic of childhood Christmas magic perfectly. Excellent song choice to go with the vid.
I haven't seen a Meerkat in a long time now, the next time I do hopefully it'll be filleted and ready to cook.
As for the rest on both lists....afraid I haven't a clue - thankfully.
Ouch !

Ah, do you not have a television Martin? I admire folk who don't own one but shamefully, I don't know if I could chuck mine out :(

I do have one but I refuse to pay TV Tax, so I cannot watch or record anything as it's broadcast. I like it that way, if there's anything I want to see I'll get it eventually.
Ouch !
