They are similar, but a zither is generally played with hammers, whereas the autoharp is strummed and has a series of keys which are pressed to dampen the strings not required.

Anyone remember the first soaps, the "Grove family" and the "Appleyards". I thought they were real and could never understand why no-one noticed a camera in the house!

I`ve just googled Shirley Abicair, and found that she`s still with us, she`ll be 84 next month, hard to reconcile that fact with memories of a pretty girl making her own kind of music.

Romper Room with Miss Rosalind. When we lived in Gib their version was on GBCTV with Miss Carmen Gomez, it wasn't quite the same.

There was a vent act guy named Savine who had a puppet called Daisy-May and a real dog. The climax to every show was to say "Shut that ruddy dog up". It always brought the house down!
