Tributes have been paid to one of the last survivors of a battle in North Africa in 1943 who has died.
Major Duncan McMillan is believed to have been the last surviving member of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders to have fought in the Battle of Longstop Hill in Tunisia.
Major McMillan, from Campbeltown, was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the battle and later commissioned.
He passed away at the weekend, aged 94. His funeral will be held on Friday.
Last year Major McMillan unveiled a painting of the battle in a ceremony at the regimental museum in Stirling Castle to mark its 70th anniversary.
Successful businessman
During the war he saw action in north west Europe, North Africa and Italy.
Many of the people from the area he served alongside in 1939 were captured by the Germans at St Valerie in France in June 1940 and spent five years as prisoners of war.
His house - Dolsach - was named after a village in Austria which he liberated in 1945.

Major McMillan went on to become a successful local businessman and was active in the Territorial Army for many years.
The Battle of Longstop Hill was a significant victory and helped towards the defeat of the Axis Powers in North Africa.
At the time of the battle, Major McMillan was a 23-year-old sergeant.
The painting Major McMillan unveiled last year records the 8th (Argyllshire) Battalion's collective gallantry and determination against significant odds in the battle.
For his leadership and gallantry during the battle, Major Jack Anderson DSO was awarded the Victoria Cross.
The 8th's sacrifice and success resulted in the Regiment being awarded the Battle Honour "Longstop Hill 1943".
