Apparently Cash is no longer King

You’ll still be able to buy Premium Bonds at a Post Office® counter, but from 1 April 2013 you’ll need to pay by cheque or debit card, as cash will no longer be accepted. You can also buy Premium Bonds direct from NS&I – either online at nsandi.com or by phone on 0500 500 000.

Cheques are to be phased out in 2018,so there is one less option.
I know my Summer'll never come
I know I'll cry until my dying day has come
Let the Winter roll along
I've got nothing left but song

I thought that had been put on hold - will be interesting to see what is brought in instead, Mother in Law uses nothing but cheques, refuses to give card numbers over the phone or put on written orders, needless to say she doesn't shop online either

Using your mobile phone is the next big thing when it comes to paying. Swipe & go.
