Best time to walk

Postby robinoz » Mon Apr 30, 2012 12:27 pm

I plan to travel to Kintyre during 2013. One of my ancestors comes from Drumlemble (Neil McNeal of Drumlemble, departed for Australia in 1837). I'd like to walk from Drumlemble to Southend via the west coast.
1. What is the best time of the year for weather ?
2. Is there a track or path ?

Robinez,

1. If it's good sunny weather you're looking for then the end of May through to July would seem to be the best time of year for that. :)
2. The Kintyre Way runs through Drumlemble and down to Southend via Machrihanish and the cliffs near Largiebaan, I suggest you follow that :D

Agree with Crowth. Should be dry, sunny and hopefully warm. Avoid the Midges though. End of May is my favourite time for Kintyre. Enjoy your time in Paradise.
