Who bothers about that anymore anyway? There`s a tradition that all royal brides must be virgins, but who`s going to do the finding out?

I've had my bellyful of this already. One thing that really puzzles me is why ordinary people "in the street" feel they have to make forelock-tugging sycophantic comments about a couple they don't even know, and even saying that it "cheers them up"? :? :?

It wid gie ye the boak.

We are in the midst of a recession with many draconian government spending cuts already announced and with more to come, and yet the taxpayer will be expected to foot the bill for this wedding of a member of an extremely wealthy family who, let's face it, don't have a great record of staying together. The coverage that this is receiving on the news is reminiscent of the wall to wall coverage of Charles's engagement 30 odd years ago, and we all know how that ended up.

Oh Emdee, not like you to perch yourself at the bottom of that fence!!!! But you are so, so right. In a recession where thousands will suffer from the worst cuts ever, what message does it send out that the state are to sponsor aristocracy with taxpayers' money?
As for the BBC, their ridiculously fawning coverage is completely nauseating. And ITV even moved Emmerdale! :<> I'm sick of it already!

I thought it read Holyrood. Can just imagine a certain wee Glaswegian monarchist waving his wee Union Jack and shouting his good wishes to the future King William.

P****s me off that this crap takes precedence in the news/media over the possible collapse of the Irish banking system. The fact that he has given her his mothers ring is perturbing!

Newsarse"# Royal engagement delights fans of paying for weddings they’re not invited to ".

I met her up at the farm, an old friend Dr Tom Normand, invited me to attend a party. I was to give a small talk, on the likelihood of revolution happening in Scotland. The future King was in attendance.
