Roddy Frame - who is to all intents and purposes Aztec Camera is a very good idea. He performed recently in Glasgow and that was a great success. He is going on tour in Spring, playing medium-sized venues, so definitely an option. Other ideas: Idlewild, Teenage Fanclub? Same sort of sound, but a bit more recent.

You should try and get the Super Furry Animals, a fantastic Celtic band that are not averse to playing small local gigs.....if we are really lucky they might do their entire set in Welsh !!!!

Another idea might be the Handsome Family who are touring Europe at that time...twisted country americana (who could ask for more!!!). You can contact them directly through their website and Rennie always answers emails personally.

Saw Fish on 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' the other week. He looks really, really old. I didn't recognise him till someone referred to him by name.

Cheers

Out of interest Jane - does Donnie Munro have a big following? Purely interested in terms of would he sell here in Campbeltown?

I would go and see him.

Just to let you all I have heard back from Donnie

Donnie Munro wrote:
Dear Jane please feel free to give the organisers of the Festival my
contact details and I will be happy to discuss the prospect of coming to
Campbeltown as a part of the festival or as a one off show.I would
probably be able to do something in August and would enjoy the
opportunity of playing there as it is many years since I played there
with Runrig in our early days

I have his contact details so if any organiser wants to get in touch with me I`ll give you his details

Thanks

PS.don`t know if i got the quotes right .....
