Glad to oblige 'the P'.
'Scad the Beggars' are six in number this year, with a real international flavour to our line-up, which actually reflects the huge influx of people from all over the place who are now happy to make your neighbourly Co Antrim their home ...........in fact, possibly the greatest influx of people here since the Plantations!
& for once the ladies in our group outnumber the men!
Our line up this year is:
Kathleen King (Co. Antrim) - Fiddle
Edel Keaveney (Co. Galway) - Fiddle
Proinsias Mac Cionnaith (Co. Down) - Guitar
Sabine Glasgow - Co Antrim (Germany) - Harp/Fife
Annie O'Donnell - Co. Antrim (France) - Flute/Whistle
Dick Glasgow - Co Antrim (Scotland) - Fiddle/Concertina/Banjo/Hammered Dulcimer
As well as the music Sabine may well sing a song or two & Annie is a great Irish Dancer.
We always have a great time at the MOKMFestival, but the highlight every year has always been the 'Dalriada Concert' on the Sunday afternoon.
The local talent element of the Dalriada Connections Concert always blows us away with such brilliant musicians & superb singers, all in the wonderfully relaxed setting of the Heritage Centre. Surely, there is no finer way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
We're all really looking forward to being with you again - very soon.
Roll on the day when the Ballycastle/Campbeltown Ferry gets going again & we don't need to actually spend all day Friday driving, to get there!
P.S. I like the festival website's Dalriada Connections Concert page, with all those photographs, & I think it's fitting that the heading photo is of that young Piper who stole the show at last year's concert.
