Went on at half 8 this morning to set up the net. Tickets for survivors went on sale at 5 to 9. I didnt get any but got one off one of the boys. You always manage to get one later, its actually no fun having one now, the hunt on the sundays usually a good laugh

Suppose the fact that the Saturday night tickets took so long to sell tell you that nae fecker's interested in seeing Idlewild :(

They should have put Eddie Reader on at the Vic and Idlewild in the Picture Hoose, or the Ailsa :D

I'm sure the organisers will know (cos it asks you for the details on ticketweb) but it would be interesting to know not only where people come from, but actually how many people attend the festival who've got absolutely NO connection to the toon at all - as opposed to toonies who live all over the place and are just heading back for the weekend?

So much competition with the other events now, especially when you compare it to other small 'town' festivals such Skye (KT Tunstall, Fun Loving Criminals, Mylo) and Wickerman in Dumdrennan (where?? Exactly!) but about 12,000 will be going there this year to see a slightly more alterantive line up New Model Army, The Alarm, Marky Ramone, Sensational Alex Harvey Band, etc.

Maybe next year there'll be a big tent on the saturday night with U2, Chili Peppers, Coldplay and Madonna - but the survivors night will still sell out quicker :D

I had read in the paper that they are the 3rd most popular band in Scotland, we downloaded songs and decided to get tickets as they sound quite good and it's a change from the pubs, I think because Deacon Blue was such a big thing last year it will be hard to compete against that!

Just hope the weather will be good for a few refreshments down the green!

So do I, SmithD, so do I - we've made a few changes to 'Doon The Green' this year - take a wee look at topic 'Don't watch that! Watch this!' on this forum.

I'm pretty surprised Idlewild haven't sold out but then I've not seen much advertising for the festival. I only stumbled across it from the Idlewild website when I was looking for details on Roddy Woomble's solo album.

P.S. I'm travelling all the way from Berkshire just to see them :)
