Heck if I know Annie.. I get these ideas and my mind runs away with me, I find what I'm looking for and heck if I can retrace my steps!

Looks like a great place for sports events though, doesn't it? There's the Superbowl, the Orange bowl... well, this is the toilet bowl.

Jamie - your right our event is 'Doon The Green'

Found out Glasgow's 'Gig on the Green' had a name change in 2003 to 'Big Day Out at the Green' - I know 'Gig on the Green' sounds much better! - think the event has different sponsors and they wanted the name change.
Also past events seem to be on same weekend as ours - tho' can't find dates for this year.

Oh & click on here www.thebigweekend-borders.co.uk - seem familiar!

Theres been no Gig on the Green since 2002 in Glasow, and that was the last one.

Big Day Out on the Green was totally seperate as it was the Red Hot Chili Peppers that basically did a one day of music with supporting bands. And there has been nothing since.

Thanks for that Stone Cold - that'll be why there's no recent info then!

Funnily enough myself & a bunch of mates were at a free festival called 'The Big Day' way back in June 3rd 1990 to celebrate Glasgow being Europe's 'city of culture' that year.
Live bands in open areas like George Square all over the city centre - as I said it was all free & culminated in the evening on Glasgow Green with an estimated 250,000 attending a concert headlined by Deacon Blue & also on the bill was Eddi Reader - think I've got a program somewhere.
