10k race in Dunoon

Hello Kintyre people,

I hope I'm not being too cheeky posting on the MOKrun forum but we are putting a 10k race on in Dunoon and wondered if any of you guys might be interested.

The event is in aid of my sons Nursery and it is on Saturday 12th June in Castle Toward in Dunoon. Please see the website,

There will also be a fun run for the kids and hopefully some stalls to keep people entertained.

okay no rest for the wicked but is anyone up for this . Race does not start until 11.30am so not too early a start if we all want to drive there and back .

10k Run and Fun Run, 12th June
Fun Run start time = 10.30am (register by 10.15am)

10k start time = 11.30am (register by 11am)

Please spread the word to anyone who enjoys running or who is looking for a reason to buy some running shoes and get fit. Don't worry if you think you may have to walk some of the way - you wont be the only one!

The 10k run will start and finish in the beautiful grounds of Castle Toward where there will be more fun to be had thoughout the day including stalls selling local produce and crafts.

The entry fee is £10 for affiliated runners and £12 for non-affiliated runners. Entrants can raise more pennies for the centre through sponsorship or they can choose another charity of their choice. Entry forms and sponsorship forms are available to download in the 'Library' section on the left hand menu.

The Fun Run will be within the castle grounds so will be suitable for children, walkers and pram pushers! There is a small entry fee of £2.

So put on your running shoes and start training or just come along for a fun day out!

Fitzer , looks like their might only be 4 of us coming Sunday but will let you know exactly how many by Friday . I hear there is only 150 entries so we may be too late to enter now anyway .

sure your race will a good one and as you say its your first one so everything that comes your way ref the race is a bonus whether it is good or not so good for your next race to be even better.

Good on you for organising a closer to home run.
