Hi All
Just thought l would put this to you and see what you think. As fever approaches for the watching of the London marathon 2010.Most of us will then enter the 2011 marathon on line in the hope of getting a place and to add to that extra chance of a place we bequeath our entry fee, which then goes to charity. The odds of getting a place in that ballot is around 60/1or more.
So l thought that if we can get 20 runners, who each pledges to raise a £100 each over the year,we could buy a Golden Bond Place of a charity which goes for around about £2000 and have a draw of our own which would cut down the odds of getting a place, but at the same have fun seeing that person train and make London 2011.(we would have 2 reserves as well).
l for one would pledge and bequeath my money and hit the target of £100 and as l have run London would not be in the draw but would help out on the training runs etc.
Charity still wins and so does at one of us.
Are you's up for it as we have no club we miss out on two places, but this is the next best thing..
