Saturday Morning Wee Toon Runners

For 2011 we have decided to give the healthy local running and jogging community a forum of their own!

Saturday Morning Wee Toon Runners

Postby Ninja Mania » Fri Feb 05, 2010 9:13 pm

Thought this would be better having its own thread.

Just heard that the bridge we would have to cross tomorrow round the Bruntlen road has collapsed, if this is true then we cant do the circle.
What do you want to do Pans lass, would this be a good time to do the Tangy loop, its about 4+3/4 mile with a few wee hills to make it feel like a 6 miler. Your call.

Hi everyone, next weeks run will be the Tangy loop, it's about 4.7 miles with a few wee hills thrown in. If we want to take the milage up we can finish it off on westport beach.
Meet at Aqua at 8.50 and head to westport car park for 9pm, see you all there.

Good idea Ninja thought that myself so everyone can keep track more easily. :)

Glad we all managed to jump the hurdle to get over the bridge this morning to complete our loop round the Bruntlen . Some of us took a diversion but all manged to meet back roughly at the same time . :D Well done this morning to Ali, Caro and Tilly ...almost 6 miles girls ....you all looked pleased with yourselves and rightly so ....see its not that bad . :D

Well done everyone.

Sorry I couldn't make it, I've had the worst cold ever. Not man flu, not H1N1, just a right bad dose. Not eating, so I thought that I'd have a rest until Monday. Feeling good now , but the lungs are like a couple of wet tea-bags and the Big KIln's like Everest.

Pans Lass - is the Tangy run off road? Do you recommend trail shoes?

Next Saturday's run (20th) will be from Southend village hall, 30mins' towards Keil hotel direction and back again.

When we get back we will stop in at muneroy for a tea/coffee and cake/scone/danish pastry or whatever you want, so if you fancy a wee change to our usual routine then this is the one for you.
Perhaps we will have the pleasure of 4th Gen's company for this one too.
Usuall meeting time 8.50 at the Aqua, see you all there.

Sorry I didn't make yesterday morning but after our run and Lussa I headed out on the Tuesday night and suffered badly from shin splints and have rested since.

Went out this morning and felt good. Realise I just need to take it slowly now.

Anyone got any suggestions on cure for shin splints. Of course, I am well aware of lose a couple of stones to start....

Weather has been great on the Saturday mornings so will try and be there this Sat
