Saturday: Hill/Xcountry (CJRC).

For 2011 we have decided to give the healthy local running and jogging community a forum of their own!

Saturday: Hill/Xcountry (CJRC).

Postby DJD » Tue Sep 01, 2015 2:23 pm

As from the 12th Sept and the when certain Saturdays are none racing weekends. I am putting on a progression hill/xcountry training program together for the older Jnr runners, if you care to join us anytime.

The reason being is prepare those that want to enter the West District XCountry Relays and a few others Scottish Athletics Nationals XCountry events in the next few months. They are staged at various venues around Glasgow. The first one being the 11th October which is the West District relays staged at Hamilton race course. (There are age restrictions). See Scottish Athletics for further infomation on all events over the coming months. One must be a Scottish Althletics members which is £5.00 for the year.

You can Pm or speak to me for further details, as to the time and place for the 12th Sept Hill session.

Thanks.

Here is a link to the Scottish Athletic web site http://www.scottishathletics.org.uk ref xcountry

This is for the up coming juniors to have in their sites as you approach the age groups, for some it will not be for a while yet but never less, it is good to watch and have a goal for the future. It will give your running and training a good purpose to continue, and you won't have to stand on the side lines anytime, no matter why or what age.

This Saturday session is on the meadows at 9:30 am for the older juniors. ( progression 2 ).

Well done to all that ran this morning xcountry, this is the route and the distance of 6.24km for the two laps. First lap was to wake the body up, next lap was one to run hard but at a controlled pace. All looked good.

Next week there is no xcountry, due to the SA National team relays up at Cumbernauld and then the following week will be out last Handicap race of the series.

No xcountry this week, due to the SA. Short Course Relays run up at Bellahouston this Saturday.

Nov / Dec should be better months for consistency as to training.
