Hi All,

Here are the details of Race 3 of the Junior Handicap Race Series 2014

"The Bellochantuy Belter"

Date: 8th June 2014

Time: 10:30am

Venue: Bellochantuy

Distance: 2.5k

Terrain: (undulating)Forest Track

We hope to have the route posted on here soon. Just like to remind people it is still an open event for all, but it is a lot more tougher than the distances one ran at the MoK recently, more so if you are at the younger end of the scale, (7/8 years old ) . It has to be said unless you have not been involved with any type of sport in the last year or so it could be beyond you, but If you have then, this could be for you to be involved in and enjoy.

Thanks.

Here is the route as promised

http://gb.mapometer.com/running/route_3855289.html

There should be adequate parking at the tight bend or if you fancy a stroll park at the bottom of the hill when the tarmac ends.

Thanks

Hi All,

The course has been marked and the normal risk assessment made. It is a belter of a course, great under foot and a nice challenging undulating route. (It's a shame I will miss it) . This course will benefit the determined, which should suit all of you.

Parking as mentioned can be found exactly 1.5 mile from when you leave the A83, follow the rd up and through the Forrest track for 1.5 mile, just before a sharp right hand bend, you should notice a single track with 2 stones on top of each other on both sides of the track (that leads towards the back of an earth mound). This is the entry point and also leads to the exit point. Whoever arrives first and so on, can you please park towards the exit point which in turn allows all to park behind each other. Thankyou.

The start point is then only a short walk approx 200m up and over the rise towards Lussa.

Hope the weather is kind, breezy, but not windy.

Tip " the going out is easier than coming back, save something for the turn for home"

Have a good race all.

Thanks.

Well done to all the Juniors that completed the senior handicap race last night, the numbers are growing that compete in the senior series which is the clubs aim.

Here are the details of the Race 4 of Campbeltown's Junior Running Clubs 1st Race Series

"The Westport Wheezer"

Date : 17th August 2014

Time : 10:30am

Venue : Westport Beach

Distance : 2.5k

Terrain : soft/ hard sand.

This will be a good tester for the "Slog in the Sand" which is held in December, it is likely that the same distance will be run on that day.

We hope the weather is on our side as in that it won't be as blowy as it can be and dry at best. We hope to see you all there and any new faces would be welcomed. The route will be posted up later.

Thanks.

Hi all,

Just to confirm the race is still on, the weather is not in our favour for tomorrow, but that is running for you. The Jackets that some have got, will come in very useful. I will have them with me, so if you have not got one and have ordered one then please ask.

We are starting 10:30 sharp or if we think everyone has turned up, then we will get the show on the road. If it is raining heavily, I suggest you stay in your cars until i say that we are ready to go, which will be roughly 5min before the first one to set off. Also that 5 min can be used to warm up ready for you to go.

See you all tomorrow.

Hi all,

Sorry I have not put the results on earlier, but I have visitors and my time has been spent on that.

Anyway, well done to all that ran the "Westport Wheezer" and we mean " well done" for the windy conditions were the worst we have seen for any race that has been run on the beach over the years. The upside was the fact we had a window in the weather, with no rain, so that was a bit of a blessing.

You guys did yourselves proud especially the younger runners and just got on with it, good on you all. Now for the results (provisionally) and some really good times for the conditions too.

Westport Wheezer results ( real time)

Hi All,

With a big thanks to the MACC, we have permission to run our 5th Handicap Race of Series 1 at the base.

The details are as follows.

"The Machrihanish Mirage"

Race 5

Venue: Machrihanish (MOD) MACC

Date: Sunday 21st September 2014

Time 10:30hrs

Distance: 2.5Km

Terrain: Tarmac

We will meet at 10:00 hrs just inside the gate and we will escort everyone in a convoy style. Parking is not a problem, but like everything good about car sharing, that would be the best option.

Hope to see as many as we have had over the recent months and like all handicaps, all new runners are welcomed, just notify Fiona or Alison on your intention to come.

See you all there and by the way the route is the same as the "February Flyer".

Thanks.

Hi All,

A slight change to the time to this coming Sundays handicap. Can we all meet just through the gate entrance to the MACC at no later than 9:40 hrs, please.

The reason being is that there is a football event on at Lochgilhead this Sunday and a few mothers would like their children to attend the both events. We are happy to make our event earlier to accommodate their request.

See you all there.

Thanks

Well done all that completed the penultimate race at MACC, which a big thankyou that goes out to them, for allowing us the use of one of the best venues for holding a handicap race.

We have put up your times on the post that has all your recorded handicap times. It is great to see so many PBs gained. It is down to all your hard work that you put in over the summer months. " well done". The next race could also see a few more PBs gained as it is one of the fastest course's around if the weather holds.

So we are at our last race of the CJRC open handicap series. The details are as follows.

Race 6 " The Campbeltown Cracker " ( not to be confused with the Campbeltown Christmas Cracker details to follow.)

Date : Sunday the 11th October 2014

Time 10:30 am

Venue : Campbeltown ( Killkeran Road)

Distance : 2.5km

Terrain : Tarmac

The route will be posted up at a later date indicating start and finish. Parking is not a problem. Still it would be better if you can walk to the venue as it will serve a better option in a few ways. (That is if the weather is kind). We also need two volunteers marshals, to help out certain area of the route.

Hope to see as many as possible on the day, it should be a cracker of a race as it is the one to really give it all you have got,in a controlled running manner.

Thanks.

Please find the route as promised, the turn point is approximate, I have yet to measure the course out with the trundle wheel, which is far more accurate than the mapometer site, but never less a good site over all.

Please spread the word around.

Thanks.

Well done to all that ran the " Campbeltown Cracker ". We were blessed with the near perfect conditions. The results have been added to the on going list on the other page.

A few got great Pbs, but we know everyone ran their socks off, by the indication of everybody strun around the finish area. You did your selves proud and by the on going results you have exceeded greatly in acheiving the aim of the event and your own personal goals.

We would like to thank everyone invovled with the event, from the runners to the marshals and of course the time recorders and the cake makers, for without everyone chipping in, it would be a lack luster of an event for all. So once again " thankyou".

The presentation is held with the senior presentation so it should be a great family occassion. Just to remind you, it is at

White Hart on the 8th November 19:30hrs / 20:00 hrs start. Campbeltown.

We hope to see you there.
