I aim to set up a Xcountry course for you Juniors over the coming weeks up here in the creggan hill. It will help towards you tackling the Tin farm 5 and amongst the other big benefits of doing tough Xcountry running.

Course and distance will be put up later.

Dates: Saturdays the 12th/26th Oct (may be a couple of runs in Nov as well)

Time start will have to be 0900hrs due to my boys doing rugby later on in the morning.

(Senior Runners welcome if you want a jolly jaunt) names please.

Here is the route as promised.

http://gb.mapometer.com/running/route_3703176.html

It is a 1.8mile (approx)first lap followed by successive laps of 1.25 miles. Total just over three miles or do the 3laps and get a good workout with a distance of 4.3miles. (approx.)

When I mark the course out, then the garmin distance taken should be the same for all.

Hi All,

here is the route of our first run of the winter, in which we have discussed at some of the session over the months, the first being "Beat the clock". The distance run can be 1km up to the distance of 5km.

The course will be marked out at the said distances and marshalled at two key points. The rest of the route is fine as you can see.

Registration will take place at 10am and the race underway as close to 10:30am on the morning of Sunday 27th October 2013. Numbers will be issued to make it a wee bit more of a "run come race" for all that enter.

Start and finish point is the Ferry Terminal. Any question or concerns please don't hesitate to ask.

The route. http://gb.mapometer.com/running/route_3703241.html

Next race (Novembers) is "Mad Hatters run" up at Loch Lussa, everyone to turn up with a hat of some sort "to keep warm "(lol) no doubt it will be blowing a gale.

Thanks.

This Saturday xcountry up in Creggan hills is cancelled due to Kintyre swimming championship on this coming Saturday at 1200hrs, however it will again be on again the following week.

Our next monthly run " The Mad Hatters" is confirmed for the 1st December up at Loch Lussa for a 10:30 start. The procedure will be much the same as the last one. (Weather permitting).

"The Beat the clock" run results, will be put in the 2nd issue of our Newsletter.

We have yet to decide if next Sundays session will be on at 1:30pm due to it being "Remembrance Sunday". We will decide at this Friday session.

Thanks

The third session of Xcountry is on for this Saturday at 0900hrs for the older juniors up at the Creggan hills. The route will be the marked out as per usual. The conditions are still good, "tough" but well worth the effort for the added benefits in training.

Just to confirm there will be a 1.5 km "Slog in the Sand" this year for the younger contingent of the running club. It will be our third calendar monthly run of the winter period. It will be held like the upper distances that we put on, it will consist of a out and back route of 750m each way.

All details will again be published in our monthly News Letter.

Thanks

Hi All,

here is the start and finish point for the "Mad Hatters" run come next week up at Loch Lussa. A quick registration before hand, along with numbers. http://gb.mapometer.com/running/route_3735639.html

Date Sunday 1st December 2013

Venue Loch Lussa

Start time 10:30

Distances 1k/2k/3k/4k/5k

Terrain Forrest Track.

I think it is important for all to run on different terrains and this one is ideal, it is safe and flat and a must place to run. Hope to see as many as possible, but I do understand its that time of the year and shopping is the "theme" (lol).

One for the diary "Santa Search" Sunday 22nd December. Details will be given at the Fridays session before.

Thanks

Hi All, well done on yesterdays run, everything about it will be put in the Decembers newsletter.

There will be a training run at Westport beach this Saturday 7th and on the 14th December. It will be a 8:30am start for the older juniors, so as to get a taste of running on the sand before the "Slog in the Sand" come the 28th December.

We aim to do up to 25min on a out and back run, being a total of a 50min for the first training run, and done on a "run how you feel bases".

Thanks

We are out again this Saturday 8:30am at Westport beach. Out and back route again, for 25min out and 23min back. Note the time difference, all it is, is that we are just going to pep it up a bit on the homeward trip.

Well done to all that did the " Santa Search " this morning with great spirit, despite the cold changing weather that you all took in your stride and that you carried on regardless and by doing so,completed what was a winding course around Campbeltown, with enthusiasm.

I would like to say a "big, big, thank you" to you all, for the "Wow of a Hamper" that you gave me, I shall enjoy it over the Christmas period.

It is a pleasure to have a great bunch of of runners that get stuck in.

Thanks and have a great "Christmas"

Hi All

A Belated "Happy New Year" to you all.

The Junior CRC training and session will begin on Sunday the 5th January 2014 at the Meadows at 10:30am.Tuesday the 7th January 18:30hrs (older ones) and we hope to resume the Friday session at 5:30pm, once confirmation is had.

This is subject to the weather of course, but by the looks it is going to be horrendous with high winds etc. So we will play the common sense card and see on the day to confirm or cancel.

To all that ran the "Slog in the Sand" a big well done and also for being a part of it, which you have now made it a family event, with the everyone starting off together. (Good to see).

Thanks

Hi All,

Just to let you know that this is the only available window left in the month to hold our monthly run so we have decided to hold it this Sunday.

We shall call it the "January Jolt" as it will waken up our running system, after probably heavy xmas (on the food side that is) and our first Junior run of the year.

Date 19th January 2014

Venue Pennygowan

Time 10:30am

Distances 1K/2K/3K/4k/5k (usual distances)

Terrain Forrest Track.

The route for some of the distances will be quite flat, leading to a climb for the longer distance. One could say this will be our best challenge yet. I hope to put up the route soon for all to see.

See you all there
