Campbeltown Junior Running Club are toying with the idea of staging a monthly xcountry race starting in October or November for over the winter period. That period will run up to the Campbeltown Running Club annual Kintyre Schools Xcountry race in March. All races will be held at the meadows due to its central posistion, and of course its surface around the outside of the field its self.
The format of how it is to be organised as in the running of it has not been decided yet. It will be done on either the handicap system or as to the age groups of the runners. (ie) P4/5, P6/7 etc.
It will be once again be open to everyone as like the Handicap that has been held through the summer, it was for all to enter.
The aim of this has many reasons, but mainly to run and enjoy the monthly challenge come hail, rain or sunshine and improve your mental endurance.
Running improves you participation in any sport, and being able to have that endurance within you, will give you the edge on your rival. So come and have a pop at it over the winter.
Look out for further details that will be put on here as we near the time. In the meantime you can show your interest either on here or get in touch with Fiona Armour or Alison Millar.
