Hi All, just going to squeeze this in, while the excitement is about the Tri this coming Saturday. Hope everyone has a good swim/cycle/run or what they are doing, as part of a team.

Dalsmirren route is to short in places and the other routes around that area are to much to ask for people run the hills. So it looks like it will be Pennygown, which some of you have ran last year and has only the one climb of 525 ft.

http://www.mapometer.com/running/route_1145675.html

Once we get a couple of things sorted, we will confirm the venue and route.

For thos that still fancies a pop at the handicaps they are still welcome and that includes the youngsters too.

Thanks

Well folks, another good turnout on a good night for running. Well done to Ashleigh on another good race win tonight. You youngster's have certainly got a hold on this handicap over the series,we can only say, "well done" to each and everyone of you that have run over the course of the summer months.

Well done to all tonight, it was one of the closest finishes that I have seen since the first series at Westport beach. It goes to show that if we increased the number of runs per year, we just might get to see a real blanket finish one day. Must admit, I have never seen one or been in one.

We will put up the results tomorrow sometime, once we do a double check on them.

Our thanks goes to you all and of course to our team tonight, Suzy,Val and Alison, without them the whole event would be hard to manage and it would not be able to run as smoothly as it does. Many thanks again.

Well done all, it was a very good get together by a great bunch of folk.

Thanks.

Really enjoyed last night's race, it was a struggle but I was pleased to run it all without stopping on that steep incline. Thought I would've definitely beat last year's time as I walked a little last time but I was 3 seconds slower, oh well :) Thanks as ever to DJD and his team of helpers.

Hi All,

Well folks, here we are once again we are coming to the last race of yet another 5 race series. The finale is going to be in Campbeltown at the usual venue and not Lussa as we envisaged. It is thanks to NJ and the guys that are working on the new quay, they are kindly going to put a safe wee route around the area they are working on, for us on the night.

Just for your info, here is the route. http://gb.mapometer.com/running/route_1527040.html.

We will confirm as to ref the whole meeting for that night later on in the week.

In the mean time, I would like to say that once again you all have made this series the best so far. The youngsters and all of you's, have really put in some tremendous efforts at the meetings, whether it be a hills or on dodgy surfaces to contend with, and of course "the midge" (I have a better name for it really) lol.

We would like to thankyou and hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have in putting it together for this year. By the way one or two people have approached us and have put forward 2 new venues in the pipe line for next year. By the sounds of them, i think they will be great and we look forward to adding them to the list of what seems like an endless areas of great runs in Kintyre.

Hope to see as many as possible for the last race of what could be a potential PB for a 5k.

Thanks

Just to confirm the last race of the Handicap Series 2012 to be held at Campbeltown

Race 5 Campbeltown

Date..25th Sept

Time..18:45/1900

Venue..Kilkerran Rd

Distance.. 3 miles

Terrain.. Road.

Meeting point,is as above mapometer route card. Can all and especially the youngster wear something loud so they can be seen easily by car drivers, although most of the running is done on pavements, it is an added extra precaution.

Still not to late to have a pop at the run, you are always welcome even if you have not run any of the races and just fancy a good 3miler with a recorded time at the end of it. You might even find it not as daunting as you think or led to believe. It will certainly wake everything up afterwards.

See you all Tuesday.

Thanks

Just a wee reminder to all runner's that we usually collect £5, to allow us to buy medals and prizes for the end of Series Prizegiving/night out. I have already received about £30 from six runners, so any more would be appreciated. I will collect tonight if anyone wants to contribute. I'll post a list on here to make sure that the totals match.

Thanks

Rab

Hi All, here are the results as promised. If by any reason I have your's wrong, please pm me and I shall edit this post.

The results speak for themselves.By having a quick look back at some Campbeltown race times from old, people have improved immensely, and that is the aim of the game as they say. Well done all.

The youngster's once again did themselves proud, and it show's they richly deserve to be running in this series. All 4 got PB's and may they continue to improve again next year.

Brilliant series again DJD. Thanks to you and Suzie, Val, Alison and all of the other helpers for making it easy for us all to just turn up and run.

I have the medal situation in hand--we have had a great response from participants. That brings me on to the Prize Giving :D

What about the weekend in October 19th/20th or 26th/27th. Would Friday be better than a Saturday for booking, say, the White Hart again??

Speak now or forever haaad yer wheesht. folks.

This is turning out to be a logistical nightmare! OK---Saturday 13th October. Can we go for that?

DJD, Suzie, Alison, Valerie would that be OK?
