I can't believe you might lose your ever present record for the handicap series 4th Gen :<>

But, I hope to be there for the next race to maintain my ever present status at the handicap series. Although a combination of Dunaverty and Carskiey beaches sounds like a good one, i'm going to vote for Pennygown ....... bring on the hills again

Dunaverty sounds good...

I'll vote for this - or a beach venue

Love the hills but can't be doing with the midgies - thanks to Donald and Susie for managing Ballochantuy and being there so long -I jumped into the car and away from the midgies the minute I crossed the finish line - sorry :x

That will be a shame if you don't make the race 4th Gen. Yourself and Darren are the only 2 that have ran all the 16 races over the lat 4 years.

So far Pennygown is the out right leader for the next venue, with a total of 3 votes (my boy voted for Pennygown)
Pennygown 5 (Jocelyn Jennifer, Cameron, Elaine, Ashleigh
Davaar 6 (Katie, Sarah, Kerry, Margaret, Darren, Jackie
Bellochantuy Beach 1 (NJ)

Jackie and 4th Gen have not really stated for this years race.

We will explore the possibility of Danaverty/Carskiey beaches for a venue next year as requested. Probably race 4 (Birds will have had their young and flown by August, thats if they nest around there).

Last call for runners choice Sun July 29th.

Thanks

Looks as if we better check the tide times,Davaar route is starting to creep up."Ah well" if the tide is in on that night, then the second placed route will be the venue.

If it is Davaar, and the tide is our favour ,then we will have to put a marker out at Neil Johns famous corner (lol)

Ref Davaar!

If I am right in saying that the low tide is 14:50, high tide is 21:48, so there is a window in the time to have the race (I think) we will wait until we get a second confirmation and opinion.

If thos that don't fancy a swim aswell vote for a dry land venue. (lol)

Rabs comment from a few years was somthing about flippers rather than running shoes. "ha"

or somthing like this http://youtu.be/0xAml6JTVQA

5 votes for Davaar which is just creeping ahead. 12 noon is the cut off time tomorrow. Thanks to all that have taken the time to vote. If it is Davaar, we will hopefully get the race underway as soon as possible. So an intrim start would be at 18:45 if possible. Please let me know if anyone needs a 1900hrs start and we will delay it until then.

We shall put up the info tomorrow with what ever route is chosen.

Hope all are enjoying the Olympics so far? can't wait to the running starts. The swimming has been brill ,lots of Scots in the finals too.Great stuff.

Last but not least, we hope to see more new face's and more youngsters coming along to our 5k race series, everyone's very welcome. I know the old die hards that turn up everytime, warmly welcomes new runners to the events.

Thanks

Hi All
Thanks for voting everyone. "Water" it is then.

Race 3 Davaar

Date, 31st July 2012

Venue.. The Dorlin

Time 18:45

Distance ( just under 3 miles)

Terrain... Sand/ Pebbly and Track

http://www.mapometer.com/running/route_673047.html

Safe walking is between the hrs of 14:15 and 2015 so the tide should be at its lowest point so one can have a good run close to the causeway. We will have in place a maker, so runners cannot chop a wee bit off at the corner turn, going out and back.

We hope to see as many runners as possible, so try and wrench yourself away from the Olympics(I know it will be hard to). Any questions or concerns please feel free to ask before the night.

Thanks

A big well done to all that ran some or all of Davaar last night, It was more of a winters league run than a summer affair. It was quite a tough one, even thou it was flat. I suppose the rain did not really effect your running, once you got going. It's the sudden drop in body temperature at the end, which does not make it a pleasure to hang around. Still, I think it is a good venue and run to mix the series up.

Another well done to the youngsters and the newbies to running that race, as it was quite daunting to take on. Some did the wise thing and pull out as they found it above what they are used too and that was the right choice. Maybe I should take a leaf out of that book on occasions.

Thanks to Suzy,Alison and Katie for hanging in there and keeping the race running smoothly and also to our brolly man Douglas keeping the ladies dry.

Suzy has done the results, but l cannot open the spread sheets, so we hopefully get the results up tonight sometime.

Dalsmirren is the next race.

Thanks
