Wee Toon Runners Handicap Series 2010

For 2011 we have decided to give the healthy local running and jogging community a forum of their own!

Hi All

Decided on a reversal of a rule

Points awarded on the race night, will be reverted back to the total of number of runners like last year

ie 40 runners 1st place 40pts 2nd place 39 pts and so on.

The reason being the scoring will be far closer at the end if kept as it is,which in turn makes a far more exciting event taking it hopefully right up to the wire.

Sorry for the confusion

thanks

To save everyone taking their cars up to Lussa we thought it be good to carpool so for anyone wanting to share a lift please meet outside Aqualibrium 6.15 pm on Tuesday. The less cars the better for the road . !

Hi All,

for the people that have not run in this event before, a quick brief on what happens.

At all the races l will have your handicap time on the famous "clock on a stick board", (Rabmacd copywright) please seek your time out and be ready for the off when l will call you forward.

At the end of the race,l will call out the time, Suzy will record your time, then you will be handed a position tag by Douglas as you cross the line.(keep a hold of it) and once you have got your breath back had a chat or what ever you want to do,can you please hand your tag into Isla so your placing can be recorded.

Thats all there is to it,so enjoy the race and let us do the guiding and relax up until you race.

So see you all Tuesday midge free with a nice brezze,(that will be the day).

Perfect weather, great atmosphere and good team spirit to start this years Wee Toon Runners handicap series. :D

It is always exciting waiting for the first night of the handicap series but also nerve wrecking knowing you are running against your own time and the thought of others 'chasing' you gets the adrenaline pumping . :D

A good one for me and was really pleased with my time despite feeling burned out last week

A huge thanks again to all the organisers who made everything go like clockwork :D

Keep up the good running folks , see you next month 8)

Yes, good to see so many familiar faces tonight and well done to everyone who ran and DJD and his organisers - everything worked well.

You can see how much effort people are putting into their training - well done. (and putting me to shame!)

What a great night. Well done to all the runners. Great to see you all off and then at the finishing line. Was as much fun doing the times as it was doing the running.

Looking forward to the next one.

What a great turnout last night. There must have been upwards of 30 runners!

No midges either DJD.

I hope that folk don't think me a stick in the mud, but last year we put in a fiver each, towards the end of the series, to buy trophies and special award prizes. I think that we should start this earlier this year, as in NOW, rather than at the last race. I would be happy to collect, if no-one else wants to do it. I would post all contributors on here, as a check.

This thing seems to be gaining momentum so I thought, why not strike while the iron is hot?

Is a fiver OK with participants?

Willing to be shot down in flames, though, if folk disagree. Any thoughts?

Soryy I never made scoring duties this first one! Packing a child for going away this weekend.

But I will be there for next month! I'm sure DJD and Suzy kept you right! 8)
