Farm names and the correct/incorrect spelling!

Postby cgms310 » Fri May 07, 2010 3:49 pm

I have been able to delve further back in time than my oldest record of 1680 and have once again hit a brick wall!

This time it has to do with farm, or village names and the variety of spellings that I have come across during my research.

I am going to "herd" the questions into two groups with their specific issues, and ask my good friends and the readership in Kintre if they know any of the answers!!!

1. Where is it or was it? Have they been renamed by any chance?
Ballemulingis
Ballergymore
Gartingwoche
Kilocra
Kildalloig
Knockmuchbeg
Clausk
Clachfyne
Strathmollach
Skeroblingorrie (is this part of Skeroblinraid?)
Corputechan

2. Are these names the same place or not and either way, where are they?
Askamulmoir and Askomilmore
Drumlargibeg and Drumlargimore

Many thanks,

Charles.
