I received the following e-mail and was wondering if anyone can help.

Hi there,

My father was James Brown who was born/brought up in Knocknaha. My family have been doing some family history research an d we are trying to get some information on a relative James Brown who played football with Campbeltown. He was signed and played for Glasgow Rangers before transferring to Kilmarnock.

I think the period we are talking about was 1920/30. Not sure as the newspaper cuttings dont display the dates.

I would be obliged if you could be of some help or point me in some direction.

I still have relatives living in Campbeltown.
