The Kintyre Forum

All the information I have on the MacVannels are that they come from Kintrye. The oldest direct relative I have found is a John MacVannell, his wife Mary Turner and their children. John and his wife were born about 1750. We cannot find any information farther back, his parents or siblings. There are later relatives mentioned in SKipness, Saddell, Kilbery, Campbeltown but before John and Mary is a blank.

I had a quick look on Ancestry and there is one tree with John and Mary.
I'm afraid I can't help you much, as I'm waiting to update my subscription. (lol..., waiting for them to reduce the price)

Nonetheless..., their system allows for a limited-surf..., and I've attached an image.
