Mcleans from Ireland before 1840

Postby calmac » Mon Feb 06, 2017 1:01 pm

Can anyone help with Mcleans who came to Kintyre from Ireland and appear in the 1841 census?
It would be interesting to know why and when they came to Kintyre, and where they were from in Ireland.

Charles 20 Ag lab lives at Darlochan , Campbeltown in the house of Archibald Stewart
I think he married Flora McConachy of Killean and was later a fisherman

Hugh 30 porter lives in Mains Street Campbeltown with Isabella 30 and family Could be brother of Charles???

John 25 fisherman Church Street Campbeltown with Anes 20 and baby Agnes.

Andrew and Robert, 15 and 10 Ag labs at Polywilling Southend McFarlane household

There are also McCallums at Lephenstrath Bridge Southend, John 55 is head of household. Maybe connected to Mcleans???

Any help would be appreciated.
