Hi
I am seeking information on the 4th great grandfather of my wife named Archibald McEachen
Arch was born in 1791 and married Jean(Jane) on 5/2/1809 in Kilcalmonell and kilberry
They had 6 children Charles 4/10/1809,Malcolm 21/5/1812,Duncan 23/11/1814,Peggy 27/12/1819, Mary 26/9/1822 and Jean 11/11/1830
The 1841 census for the village of CLACHAN lists for the McEachens Arch 50 ,Jean 55 , Duncan 20 , jean 9 ,and Archibald 5
The first son Duncan married Elizabeth McGowan (Mc Gown) born 1812 paisley , in 1834 in Greenock
The emigrated to Australia in 1838 and settled in the Canberra region where they became successful farmers and strong supporters of their church. They were later joined by Charles brother Duncan and Charles Son Arch who had been living with his grandparents.
I visited Kintyre n 2013 staying at the beautiful Tarbert I visited Clachan and the church but couldn't find any information as the local historian had moved to another village
hoping someone can help
