Macmillan-Macdiarmid
Posted: Sun Feb 21, 2016 4:02 pmGreetings! My wife's gg grandfather was Archibald Macmillan born in Campbeltown in July of 1812. Scotland's People has his parents listed as Donald Macmillan and Mary Macdiarmid, married in Campbeltown Parish in 1803. Further searches in SP have suggested that Donald was 17 and Mary was 14 when they married. Is it possible to have been married at such a young age?
Other children of Donald and Mary were Duncan (1806), Catharine (1809), Donald (1817), and John (1822). We're trying to trace my wife's Scottish roots further back, and any help would be appreciated. By the way, we'll be in Campbeltown in April and are wondering what resources we could consult.
