Hi Hamish... Welcome to the Kintyre Forum.

Neil Stalker married Mary Thompson on the 22 June 1835 at Saddell and Skipness. He was probably born about 1805 (a guess) which means he died about 30 years of age. This provided the time for Mary to emigrate to Canada with much if not all of the family. (photo of Mary’s headstone in Ontario)

As you say, they had Mary, born 1 March 1835 died May 1837; and Duncan 28 July 1838 died 8 February 1909. (not in Tarbert as you say, but in Ontario..., lot 14, Con 3 Dunwich, Ontario) There’s also a photo of Jane’s headstone there. (his wife)
Duncan Married Jane McTavish and had 7 children. (Mary Jane / Maggie Bell / Neil / Grace Allena / Archibald / Florence Irene / Bernice Christena )

As for the parents of Neil:

Father... Duncan born about 1773 and married on the 10 March 1798.
Mother... Mary McBride born about 1775
