Hi all,I am trying to locate any children from the marriage of JOHN McINTYRE and JANE McSPORRAN.
They were married on 24th. of April 1913 at Lochhead Distillery,Campbeltown.
Jane died on 16th. of June 1964 at 7,Millers Park,Campbeltown.
I have located one child from this marriage, MORRIS McSPORRAN MCINTYRE born 28th. of August 1933 at 5,Lorne Street, Campbeltown.
It seems a long time since the marriage in 1913 until the birth of Morris in 1933 that I am presuming that this couple had other previous children in the intervening 20 years,i also presume that Morris was their last child but could be wrong.
Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

In any case, I found your Morris and a photo of him.
Also Flora, she died 2002..., photo of her too !
Also, Archibald born 1916
There’s also a photo of John McIntyre and perhaps his mother Mary McMillan

Eleven children in all..., 5 girls and 6 boys :
On the 1901 census, they have a John, Daniel A, Helen and a William.

I`ve been informed, by a friend who lives in Kintyre, that a Willie McSporran was involved in rallying people to purchase Gigha, could he be one of the McSporrans that you are looking for?

My mcSporrans were all from the Campbeltown/Kilchenzie areas of Argyllshire. I had some from Stirlingshire but I have not come across any from Gigha at all.

Hi all,
I posted a request for information on the McIntyre children a few weeks ago and one kind member offered to send me some info on the family.
Since then I have heard nothing else so I am appealing for the information again.

I would just like to let you know that I have managed to obtain the details of the 11 McIntyre children via a researcher in Glasgow at quite considerable expense but hey,if needs must.

Who were the parents of your John McIntyre? I have quite a few McIntyres in Campbeltown in my tree.
I have one McSporran too, Morris McSporran married Helen McIntyre in 1910 in Campbeltown, then they went to Canada.

I have a Morris McSporran who married Jean McIntyre in Campbeltown in 1857.

I don't have a Jean McIntyre born in the right time period to be married in that year. But she might be a child that I missed. If you have their marriage record, who are her parents?
The same for John McIntyre who married Jane McSporran, do you have John's parents' names, from the marriage record?

The Jean McIntyre who married Morris McSporran in 1857 was born about 1837 in Kilcalmonell & Kilberry,[Campbeltown ]and her parents were John McIntyre & Margaret Taylor
The John McIntyre who married Jane McSporran was born in 1888 in Campbeltown and his parents were William McIntyre and Mary McMillan.
