A family headstone in Killean cemetery has the following inscription:

Erected
in MEMORY of
John Milloy
late farmer at Achapharick
who died January 1795
aged 44 years
by
MARY MacNIVEN his spouse
and Edward and
Archibald Milloy their sons
In the year 1808.

I have managed to track John and Mary's three children (they also had a daughter named Barbra), but I can't find John and Mary's dates of birth, marraige or their deaths in the records - all I have is the info on the stone. I've got loads of info on Achapharick, Gaigan and Beachmore and the families who lived there. I presume John and Mary were born in Killean parish. Could they have been recorded using the old version of the name - McIllmaluag?

Can any one help, please.

Always amazed by the quantity of info on the headstones ! I have a professional genealogical friend who is constantly in Tyree with a spade..., lol ! Digging up and uncovering fallen headstones and cutting away the brambles.

Good luck !
