Campbeltown Muirs/Stewarts, 1600 and 1700's

Hello,

I'm researching Robert Muir, born 1709 in Cambeltown, to parents Samuel Muir and Jenet Stewart. This Robert Muir apparently moved to Edinburgh, had a son, Robert, in 1735. This 1735 Robert sailed to America (Alexandria, VA) before 1755. I have much of my Muir line from there, but am very interested in researching the Muirs and their wives in Scotland.

Anyone able to connect this with their lines? Thank you!
