Karate Tournament - Sat 6th March 2010

Postby ksk scotland » Sat Feb 06, 2010 8:33 pm

The Kyokushin Schools of Karate in Scotland are holding a Full contact Karate tournament in the Mid Argyll Sports Centre, Lochgilphead on Saturday March 6th at 2pm, one of the fighters is from Tarbert and I'm sure he would be happy if some locals came to cheer him on. Is there a Karate Club in Campbeltown?
If you have a news article or event please post here or e-mail us at kfn@campbeltown.info

I'm not sure if there still is one in Campbeltown?
I'm based in Lochgilphead and have a large Tarbert contingent training with me.
There was a club in Campbeltown a few years ago but I've heard nothing from them or about them for a couple of years now??
can anyone else shed some light on this?

On a related subject, I have been asked to come to Campbeltown (Aqualibrium) to do some demonstrations and maybe a self defense course do you think there would be much call for this?
As i dont have a club there I was wondering if there was any point in doing this? I am more than happy to do it if I thought it would be reasonably well attended, and obviously knowledge of self defense can be a good thing.
please give your thoughts on the matter.

P.S. as far as I am concerned any demo/course would be free of charge

Well, I know of around 4 or 5 kids who would be interested in attending a karate class.

There should be enough with some martial arts training - I must have trained more than 50 over the years. then again that was at least 10 years ago......................
