ABREEF (Argyll & Bute Regional Environmental Education Forum) Environmental Education Fair 2009 is being held at Hunters Quay Holiday Village, Dunoon on 30th September and 1st October. The event is open to all during the two days, and FREE.

"Argyll and Bute Regional Environmental Education Forum (ABREEF) is a forum which brings together individuals and organisations working in environmental education in Argyll and Bute. Each year ABREEF holds an environmental fair in a different part of Argyll and Bute. Last year the event was held in the Corran Halls,Oban, and previous fairs have taken place in Dunoon, Campbeltown, Lochgilphead, Cairndow, and Tarbert.

The main aim of the fair is to provide school children, community groups and families with demonstrations and hands-on games and activities to enable them to learn about the environment.

There are usually around thirty organisations involved, covering a range of topics including wildlife and biodiversity, archaeology, sustainability, waste awareness and environmental art, to name but a few!

Activity providers include national organisations specialising in environmental education as well as local ranger services and community organisations."
